Viktor "⁠sdy⁠" Orudzhev is not letting the recent talk around the future of Natus Vincere's roster rattle him.

Natus Vincere are a squad used to challenging for trophies, used to being one of the best in the world, but that has not been the case in recent months. Some underwhelming showings pre-Major were followed up by a quarter-final exit in Rio, which was their worst finish at CS:GO's most prestigious event since 2019.

This has led the CIS giants to rethink their current roster, and they come into the BLAST Premier Fall Final fresh from the news they will be experimenting with fielding Andrii "⁠npl⁠" Kukharskyi, if not here in Copenhagen, then certainly at the season-ending BLAST Premier World Final in Abu Dhabi.

sdy, who has been part of the Natus Vincere roster since IEM Cologne, is the man whose spot is in danger, but he didn't seem to let the uncertainty surrounding him prevent him from showing up in his team's 2-0 win over Fluxo. He gave a quick interview to HLTV to discuss that game, as well as the news that he will be sharing game time with npl.

Was the first map closer than you were maybe expecting?

Yeah it was too close for comfort, I expected us to do much better on Dust2.

Why do you think it was so close, what did they do that allowed them to keep the score so tight?

They have a good game plan. They surprised us with short contacts, I can say it like 'explosions' maybe, and we didn't expect it and lost some crucial rounds.

On Mirage it was a little bit more convincing, and you yourself played very well, you had some big clutches in the first half. How important is it for you to play well in these matches?

Uh (laughs) it's important to play well in every match, because there is no unimportant matches, so it's good.

Is it maybe more important for you right now? NAVI have said they are going to use nipl for the BLAST World Finals, that they are maybe experimenting with the roster a little bit. Does it put a little bit more pressure on you to perform well in these matches?

Nah, it's the same like it was before but now we have a young guy and I will try to help, to do my best so he can grow up faster.

So maybe you are using it more as motivation than anything else?

Yeah you can say it like that.

What has been said to you about bringing nipl in, has it been said that you are fighting for your place? How have NAVI put it to you?

For now basically he is just watching how we play, he is learning by spectating, but in the near future he will play some maps.

Are you disappointed at all by that? Or do you just think it's normal for NAVI to try out an academy player, try give him experience?

Nah I don't mind it, I think if I couldn't handle these things, why should I stay in the roster at all?

Do you think you've done enough to justify your spot on the roster long-term? Obviously you did win the BLAST Spring Finals with the team.

I think I still can do much better, so not enough.

How are you feeling about the rest of the tournament, you have won your first game now, can NAVI do well and maybe win the tournament?

We are still playing shaky, a lot of mistakes that shouldn't happen at all, but overall if you focus on the right things I think we can get this tournament.

He did mistakes and was very shaky in important duels that made them lose rounds, but the whole team played bad in the major, S1mple did really poor decisions too, I don't think sdy is the only one to blame, the rest of the players should stepped up if sdy couldn't but they didn't more than some individuals in random games.

Sure, I will believe someone who writes simple, lol. sdy played bad, but the whole team did the same, b1t was pretty average compared to his prime, S1mple did some really average games too with barely 1.10 and 0.87 against Furia that was pretty bad. Don't try to use rating for the event, because all of them has the rating boosted because BNE game, if you saw the games, you'll understand. If you want to think that if they change sdy and the rest plays like they did in rio will make them win three majors in a row, fine, keep being delusional.

+1 electronic is not that bad as IGL, probably because Blade papers, and he still put some good numbers but I really think they need someone who can read better midgame or they will end like Faze when NiKo was the IGL, win some random tournaments but never been consistent at all.

and the main reason he was signed on is because he's Ukranian and wasn't connected to any Russian orgs, Navi didn't have a lot of options.

Did You even watch Navi game against Furia on mirage? Navi CT side, 2 players rotating from B, sdy on CT with almost full utility, he's not waiting for teammates that are on short. Goes in alone, kills one, die, lose all utility. Both players come from short to connector/stairs without kits, 1 flash, They cant do sh!t cuz its 2vs3. He did the same thing like 3 times on CT in one game. I watch CS since 1.6 Meet Your Makers times. Last time I've seen stupid decision like this on tier1 was when Pasha joined Frag eXecutors and he had 0 experience on tier1. It was in 2010 (I think). Pasha literally did the same thing over and over, losing the rounds for his team. Next tournament he was like a different person. Didnt make those mistakes. Sdy does it since he joined. Same mistakes.

Last time I watched entire Astralis game was like a year ago. Not even kidding. Every single time I see astralis game its like "ok, I have an hour to go out and play with my dog". +1. His CT mirage is unbearable to watch. On other maps he is fine, but there are side effects. For example, on Inferno he took B1t's position so B1t had to play Banana. Basically it is still about chemistry, his side effects on the whole team to adapt for him, and his trash mirage CT.

I don't know, teams are different. And Liquid might lose Furia as well if they met in that playoff. You seem suggesting that I was looking for excuses for Navi at least by bullying sdy online. I was not doing that. There were many contributing factors for Navi to not be able to win 2v3 or 3v4 in that playoff, S1mple was bad, team did not have synergy, etc. But all these factors did not contradict the fact that sdy was bad on mirage A CT and he has brought several side effects to Navi. In fact, these factors may be correlated to the presence of sdy. So, overall, my point is still about the chemistry. Sdy simply does not have chemistry with the team.

2.5k elo is pretty high for HLTV standards. I am 3.3-3.5k The point is, "one and done" is not enough on tier1 and going solo when Your teammates are on the other side of the map and rotating is unacceptable. They have 3v3 retake and he goes solo before his team have a chance to rotate and clear everything. 0.6 KPR explains alot. Compare his stats with other players who play same possitions from top8 teams. He's literally out of his league.

NaVi has far greater issues than SDY. If their IGL is not on point that's a big issue, s1mple is having less impact than usual, b1t is showing us why last year he only made great decisions when micromanaged by others (aka headshot machine but not much brain). Perfecto, it's hard to put blame on him, he's a support and a filler and he's as good as the team is. I think he ends up being more like a scapegoat - but maybe team needs that for a fresh mental start? Electronic, one of the best riflers in the past years - has to change A LOT by basically taking IGL roles where boom used to play. That's a huge hole to fill and if navi thinks they will fill it in 3 months they are delusional.
