Astralis suffer early exit from CCT North Europe Series 2

HEET narrowly bested the Danes 2-0 to eliminate them from the playoffs of the online competition early doors.

Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz's first event back under the Astralis banner hit an early stumbling block on Tuesday as the team were eliminated from the CCT North Europe Series 2 by HEET in the quarter-finals, losing Dust2 (17-19) and Inferno (19-22).

Initially device's return was a triumphant one as Astralis dispatched of fellow Danes Tricked 2-0 in the round of 16 of this competition, but they were unable to overcome HEET in two hotly-contested overtime showdowns.

device's own strong performance could not drag Astralis to victory

device himself shone bright in that first match, sporting a 1.66 rating and over 100 ADR against Tricked, and he was still impressive in defeat with almost 70 kills and a 1.27 rating across the series against HEET.

device shines in highly-anticipated return debut for Astralis

It was Aurélien "⁠afro⁠" Drapier who was the real difference maker for the French side, his 34 kills and seven first kills leading the way on Dust2, and 33 more kills and 8 first kills on Inferno helped to bring the series home. It was fitting that the AWPer closed out the final round on Inferno with a 1v2 clutch against device and Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer.

HEET move on to face an in-form HAVU side in the semi-finals, the Finns having defeated OG and FORZE so far in the tournament. On the other side of the bracket, GamerLegion take on ECLOT and ENCE do battle with Endpoint to decide the other semi-final matchup.

Literally their best player role wise. One of the best supports period. Stavn isn't one of the best stars period. If anyone's to be replaced it wouldn't be sjuush.

I agree with this. Heroic doesn't really need a player like k0nfig - do they need to change anything at all? If we must force a change, it'd be one of two; they could get more out of looking for a new IGL, or a more impactful AWPer. Now I suppose cadiaN would probably be a more impactful AWPer if he was released from the role of also being IGL, so a new IGL could improve in both areas.

It really doesn't work like that. There is a rivalry in game when they compete against each other, that's it. It does not in any way cross over to dislike, or distrust, spite or any form of hatred. Players jump back and forth between teams numerous times, even after having played for competing teams.. It matters not. Now will Astralis bring him back? I strongly doubt it. They chose to kick him of the team after his incident for some reason, rather than benching him throughout the period of rehabilitation. If they wanted to keep him, he'd be temporarily benched.

What's funny is he died doing almost the exact same thing in OT on the T side. He was strafing back and forth on A and got shot without even shooting back. Not sure what the strafing thing was about. It was exceptionally dumb in that 2v1 though.

Yeah with device they went from playing 2 vs 5 ( konfig and blamef vs all) to 2 vs 5 still ( device and blamef). They need like any other consistently top 10 team a trio of amazing players and an x factor. Xypex is a mediocre support nowadays and has lost his clutching ability. Glaive is playing different roles and he is sucking lets be honest. Mistr well he will be replaced anyway sooner or later and his career ruined just like farlig and lucky.

I do think k0nfig was utilized incorrectly in Astralis. It was pretty clear that they needed someone willing to make plays besides him. It's hard to say if that would've fixed his consistency, but it certainly wouldn't have hurt.

Don't know what you were watching but when k0nfig was in Astralis they at least had a chance to win games. It's hard to perform and carry every single time when the only other good player is a lurker and the rest is literally not doing anything unless he gets 3 entry kills

Massive +1. Konfig was a winning factor, with he s ability to literally win rounds solo. Yes he was inconsistent, guess what who wouldnt in a team with nobody doing nothing on t side. He had to hard entry and teams started to counter him. Im sure he will show his power in heroic, he has too. Thats hes only ticked to tier one, after he s peanut brain in real life leads him to stupid career ruining actions.

I mean this is literally what I said, though I still contend that him going completely missing at times was a problem. K0nfig had a lot more to show than what we saw in Astralis. We are on the same page. He was the only person making plays for his team 90% of the time, and that's simply not his fault.

There are no invites for play-in. Its based on ESL ranking and atm BIG, Complexity, Sprout are ahead. This event was quite crucial for them to win in order to qualify for play-in stage. Gla1ve is such an L igl. He forced Farlig to play passive despite him being a combat awper, kicked their only aggressive element from the team, and is now trying to get through off the dev1ce and blame carry. NAVI and s1mple wouldn't lose to HEET that's for sure so you can't say dev1ce is on top right now with the current Astralis team, they need two more players like ago players and riflers like Magisk and dupreeh used to be back in the day however, it was still a derby and Danish teams usually struggle big against French ones I can't remember the last time a Danish team was able to beat a French one.

Well I was expecting this.. What did they do in the last days/weeks ? Well, instead of having some fancy bootcamp to train they went in a tour in Denmark to give autographs and to try to bring some fans back. Unfortunately only blameF and device are playing at the Astralis level. Maybe they should go international, bring interz or sdy or buster. Bringing back device and asking him to play with academy member is not good for him either. Hope they gonna find a solution soon.

i think that glaive just got lucky or rather whole astralis prime lineup got lucky. they were all in sync with each other, every one of them good players in their prime. either way glaive has shown significant weakness as an igl when it comes to his lineups. he just keeps ripping through new players and he can't find the correct pieces. he doesn't know how to build a roster, he knows what to do with a working roster. astralis is never going to shine again with this chef in the kitchen. if he ain't got the right ingredients, he ain't good enough to fix a meal from whatever he's got.

Imo xyp played a pretty consistent series. Been playing better ever since they tweaked his role. BlameF and Device were both awesome. A pity it's supposed to be a 5v5 game. I'm yet to witness mistR ending a series with a positive rating.
