The Paris Major organizers have confirmed the invitees to the Europe RMR closed qualifiers.

BLAST has confirmed the list of teams who have been directly invited to closed qualifiers for the BLAST.tv Paris Major Europe RMR events. The list was tentatively set on Sunday after Valve published an update to their Regional Rankings, and BLAST has now formally announced the list of 16 teams and provided clarification on which of the two closed qualifiers the teams will be seeded into.

Among the list of teams in the EU RMR A closed qualifier are IEM Katowice champions G2, as well as the likes of Astralis, 9INE, and Copenhagen Flames. The EU RMR B closed qualifier is headlined by OG, GamerLegion, and Aurora, the last of whom only recently had their 15-series winstreak brought to an end by Astralis.

G2 must fight through the qualifier after missing out on the last Major

Each closed qualifier will feature a total of sixteen teams, with the eight invited teams joined eight teams who advance through the two open qualifiers. The first open qualifier is currently underway, and you can follow along with how the bracket is unfolding in our live post.

Note: BLAST added that all invites are subject to teams accepting. If a team does not accept, the next highest team in the ranking will receive an invite.

Yeah, I think they said in the past that it was to help make sure top teams don’t go out due to a bo1 loss. Still kinda stupid if you ask me, but I understand the reasoning

It's imposed by valve, future majors will also have closed rmr quals At Keats blast changed from 1 open qualifier to 2 after the announcement
