HEET, Eternal Fire headline final eight teams to advance to BLAST.tv EU RMR closed qualifiers
Three French teams came through the bracket after a regional failure in the first online qualifier.
The second BLAST.tv Paris Europe RMR open qualifier reached its qualification round on Wednesday, and eight teams have secured their spots in the upcoming closed qualifiers taking place between February 16-19.
The qualifiers opened up on Tuesday with nearly 1000 teams taking part in the notoriously unforgiving single-elimination knockout bracket. The first six rounds of play were decided by best-of-one fixtures before a best-of-three qualifying match. Two additional BO1 rounds and a 5-6th place decider will also be played later on Wednesday for seeding purposes.

The first open qualifier was one to forget for French teams as none managed to reach the BO3 phase, meaning today was the last chance for local teams to reach the closed qualifiers for the first-ever French CS:GO Major. HEET, GenOne, Mixfits, and LDLC all managed to redeem themselves and reach the round of 16, while Richard "shox" Papillon's Nakama project fell to Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski's Let us cook in the RO128, marking France's most notable absence today.
For a detailed recap and breakdown of how the matches up until the round of 64 unfolded, you can take a look back through our live post. You can also check out the remaining seeding matches and their results on the event page.
Both HEET and LDLC won their matches over Nexus and SINNERS, respectively, guaranteeing at least four French squads in the two closed qualifiers. GenOne and Mixfits played each other for a spot, while Falcons received a direct invite due to their position in the Valve Regional Rankings.

The Polish squad of PGE Turow were the first team to advance from today's matches after taking down Dripmen 2-0 on the back of great performances from Kacper "gRuChA" Gruszeczka and Maciej "b1elany" Biliński. Their compatriots from Anonymo joined them in the closed qualifiers shortly after thanks to their win over Partizan.
JANO became the second Finnish team to reach the closed qualifiers, joining HAVU following a 2-1 victory over FTW delivered by Lasse "ZOREE" Uronen and Olli "sLowi" Pitkänen. They were followed by Eternal Fire as the Turkish squad defeated Maikil "Golden" Selim's GODSENT with wins on Inferno and Mirage.

The last two spots in the closed qualifiers were taken by ECSTATIC and Mixfits. David "devoduvek" Dobrosavljevic's side came back against GenOne after losing their map pick to take Inferno (16-4) and edge out Anubis in overtime (19-17), while the Danes took down the K23 in a 2-1 series.
Teams that qualified for the closed qualifier over the last two days will have to wait for all seeding matches to be resolved before they are assigned to their respective closed qualifiers.
