G2 announce team built around juliano and zAAz
The signing of this roster marks G2’s first foray into women’s Counter-Strike.
G2 have announced the formation of the G2 Oya roster, which is headlined by returning CS stalwarts Julia "juliano" Kiran and Zainab "zAAz" Turkie. Taking up the coaching position is Jimmy "Jumpy" Berndtsson who has previously coached fnatic and North, winning IEM Katowice 2018 with the former.
The return of juliano and zAAz to CS has been brewing for some time, with the latter posting tweets in search of female CS:GO players back in December. They put together a squad to compete in the ESL Impact Katowice qualifiers, but fell to BIG EQUIPA in the second round. The squad have however qualified for the European division of ESL Impact Season 3.

The duo already have a storied history in female CS, having dominated the scene for most of their time playing until they transitioned to Valorant upon the disbanding of their XSET roster in 2021. They continued to find success in that game, winning several VCT Game Changers Series under the G2 banner, and juliano was part of the roster that won the Game Changers Championship. The allure of the lucrative Impact circuit has, however, drawn them back to Counter-Strike.
G2 Oya have fleshed out their roster with two players who enjoyed modest success towards the latter half of 2022, Oleksandra "manka" Kruspe and Anastasia "kr4sy" Khlobystina (who also played in XSET). The pair featured for MVP and won multiple ESL Impact Cash Cups, and both played alongside juliano and zAAz in the European qualifiers for Impact Katowice and Impact Season 3. The final player, Alexandra "kyossa" Tykhonska, also has a history of competing in Impact Cash Cups, winning one in October 2022.
"It is an incredible feeling and I’m so excited about what we will achieve," juliano commented in a statement accompanying the announcement. "We have brought together some insane raw talents to complete our lineup and there is no doubt in my mind that you'll see us all lift a trophy together."
The CEO of G2, Alban Dechelotte, added "while the goal is better representation, we know that trophies come to the party when Juliano and zAAz are on the server and we’re confident we’ll experience the same instant success with G2 Oya."
The G2 Oya lineup is:
Zainab "zAAz" Turkie
Julia "juliano" Kiran
Anastasia "kr4sy" Khlobystina
Oleksandra "manka" Kruspe
Alexandra "kyossa" Tykhonska
Jimmy "Jumpy" Berndtsson (coach)
