MOUZ vs. Virtus.pro elimination match headlines round 4 at Europe RMR

The IEM Rio Major winners or semi-finalists will be eliminated from contention for a spot at the BLAST.tv Paris Major on day three of the RMRs.

The round four matchups at the BLAST.tv Paris Major Europe RMR A tournament have been determined following the conclusion of the third round. Saturday will see three Major-qualifying matches played in the 2-1 pool and three elimination matches played in the 1-2 pool.

In the most high-profile of the six fixtures, Virtus.pro will face off against MOUZ for survival after two teams haven't lived up to their status of tournament favorites as the third and fourth highest-ranked.

Into the Breach sent Virtus.pro to elimination matches on day two

Both suffered losses to B8 on the opening day of the tournament, before the third round saw Virtus.pro fall at the hands of Into the Breach and Falcons take down MOUZ in a lopsided affair.

I hope VP wins. Not because I dislike mouz but I believe that the major winners should be at the next major. If anything it should be a direct invite.

Funny because they introduced the current system cause people were complaining that too many teams retain their spots based on the previous Major

I've been a fan since like 2020ish so not a complaint of mine. I think all Champions qualifiers should be insta locked for next major. But that's just me.

Dunno, I prefer the current system over the previous one with only bottom 8 having to requalify Invite for the previous champ would be alright though

Agreed. I'd be happy if they'd just invite the champion. It sucks that one of these teams is going to be eliminated.

ITB had NAVI, Sprout, VP B8 had MOUZ, VP, FNATIC You can't say with a straight face they deserve another match vs let's say FaZe. BNE that got them in comparision got Apeks, Viperio and 1WIN.

I think MOUZ needs the elimination more than anyone else. Roster changes are inevitable and qualifying for the major would prolong the inevitable.

Exactly. The loss here might work in the squads long term favor. And for christ's sake this time they need experience in the team and a a competent coach who have some real tier 1 game sense and can antistrat teams on a regular basis. People(including myself) bash the players sometimes, but now that i dig deeper I can see that the whole squad system is flawed, the biggest issue here is a clueless academy tier coach who adds zero value in this squad, this definitely is the biggest problem in mouz.

There's several issues, I guess. The question is: Do they really want to change anything or are they content with the status quo? I wouldn't be too surprised if the organisation waited until CS2 and gave the current roster a new chance, but I'm so tired of watching this team. It's up and down, up and down, up and down, whilst slowly but surely getting worse in performance.

Its not exactly up and down, because the squads best performance came at their peak when the best they could do is get the better off of tier 1 teams who are slumping. So far the only upset Mouz did was beat C9 in the major quarters, every other win is on the back of a rather underperforming team with mouz squad performing at their ceiling. This is not a tier 1 team and its clear they will never be any better, I agree with what you said, maybe the org does not want budget oriented championship contending teams anymore. Maybe they are just happy being in the top 10-20 and making playoffs of 2-3 events a year, if thats the case I would rather see such a storied org better get rid of their csgo division than play fast and loose to keep the esl slot with a subpar squad like this.

This bucholz seeding system is absolute trash, how is mouz facing vp while sprout facing apex ? so one among the last major winner and last major semifinalists is getting eliminated before the next major? this seeding system is absolute trash.
