BLAST release Spring Final schedule and opening matchups

The event starts on Wednesday, June 7 with the first four matches of the group stage.

BLAST have announced the initial matchups alongside the schedule for BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023, the tournament which will bring the first season of tier-one competition to a close.

The event will take place in Washington, D.C., United States, and will host eight teams fighting for the lion's share of the $425,000 prize pool, as well as a spot at the BLAST Premier World Final, during June 7-11.

G2 have been given a tough opener against Cloud9

The eight teams have been split into two double-elimination groups, from which three squads will advance to the playoffs. The group winners will qualify directly to the semi-finals, while the second and third-placed teams will clash in the quarters.

Group B

The first match will see reigning Major champions Vitality face off against Imperial, the lowest-ranked team at the event. A heavyweight clash between G2 and Cloud9 will come next, with both squads looking to end their seasons with a title.

In Group B, HEROIC will meet with Complexity, who came into the event as a replacement for Natus Vincere after Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev and company were forced to pull out due to visa issues.

Complexity replace NAVI at BLAST Spring Final

FaZe vs. Astralis will round out the first day of play, with both squads securing their spots by progressing through the start-of-season Spring Groups.

The Blast Major was the last Major. The others, while not Majors, are still tournaments, some tier1 like this Blast.
