Into the Breach sign Qikert as in-game leader

The Kazakhstani rifler will take over leadership duties from Thomas "Thomas" Utting.

Into the Breach will be Qikert's first venture outside his home region

Into the Breach have announced the signing of Aleksei "Qikert" Golubev to their lineup on a three-month loan, with the priority option to buy. The ex-Virtus.pro rifler comes in to take over the team's in-game leadership. He assumes control of the role from Thomas following the Brit's decision to take a step back from the lineup.

Into the Breach will now be hoping to regain some stability after a tumultuous summer, in which they lost their British core of Sebastian "volt" Maloș, Cai "CYPHER" Watson, and Thomas just three months after the team's impressive showing at the BLAST.tv Paris Major. The European mix also briefly hosted Adam "NEOFRAG" Zouhar, but he was removed from the lineup and eventually replaced by Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier.

Into the Breach confirm misutaaa addition

Qikert decided to withdraw from Virtus.pro's active roster in August, a choice which stemmed from the team's failure to qualify for the Paris Major. He last saw action at Gamers8 2023, where he helped the Russian squad claim a win over FaZe before being eliminated by G2 in the second knockout round.

Into the Breach will be Qikert's first venture outside his home region in more than six years. He began his professional career with LOG, the team that was acquired by AVANGAR and then Virtus.pro, triumphing at IEM Rio Major 2022 with the latter's core under the Outsiders banner.

Qikert to no longer play with Virtus.pro*

"Signing a player of Qikert's caliber alongside the signings of misutaaa & Bymas shows how big our ambitions are coming into CS2," Into the Breach's team manager, Neil "NeiL_M" Murphy stated. "All three players have multiple tier 1 playoff runs & we fully believe with this five that the team will reach the highest level in CS2. We hope our fans who support our Paris run will continue to support this new chapter in ITB!"

Qikert provided his own thoughts on the move, mentioning his long-standing desire to try his hand on an international team. "I always wanted to try myself in an international team, and this opportunity puts a lot of responsibility on my shoulders that I’m more than ready for.

"I can’t wait to start practicing with the team and feel myself alive again."

Into the Breach are now:

Poland Karol "rallen" Rodowicz
Netherlands Joey "CRUC1AL" Steusel
Lithuania Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras
France Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier
Kazakhstan Aleksei "Qikert" Golubev

Denmark Martin "trace" Heldt (coach)

United Kingdom Thomas "Thomas" Utting (benched)
Portugal Gustavo "Juve" Alexandre (benched)

Patsi can stay in this team. Still young and getting used to new language+playstyle. No improvement in 4-5 months - easy bench. oSee and fixwaker is arguably duo of worst awper/worst anchor in top15.
