Community bids farewell to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

However, while Counter-Strike 2's Wednesday release was met with much expectation, it was also the time for a period of reflection for many.

Players have invested thousands of hours in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive — over 23,000 if you're Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev —, so while it's time to welcome Counter-Strike 2 and look forward to the future, there has also been an outpouring of farewells for a game that will forever remain a large part of many lives.

The Counter-Strike team even joined in via their Twitter account, thanking players who tested the game prior to its launch and Alex "⁠Machine⁠" Richardson, who was the narrator in Counter-Strike 2's release video, before expressing their excitement for Counter-Strike's "next chapter."
