BIG go 8-0 in matchups vs. FalleN to make Thunderpick playoffs
FURIA exit the competition after back-to-back losses to tabseN's men.

BIG has recovered from their 1-2 loss to HEROIC on Monday by securing a repeat victory over FURIA to become the final team to book a spot in the playoffs of Thunderpick World Championship.
The German-majority roster started their Group D campaign by obliterating Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's men 2-0 on Nuke and Ancient, but couldn't convert that victory into an early playoff berth as they fell to HEROIC in the winners' match.
FURIA recovered from their opening loss by eliminating Nouns to set up a rematch against BIG for a playoff spot, and this time around opted for an Overpass pick instead of Nuke (a map they garnered just one round on in their previous meeting).

The change-up proved to pay off for FURIA, who recovered from a deficit on their pick to force overtime and steal the map win, but didn't help them score victory in the end as they faltered on Ancient and Vertigo to extend Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz's undefeated match-up streak over FalleN to 8-0 across the Brazilian veteran's time on SK, Imperial, Liquid, and MIBR.
The start of the series seemed promising for FURIA as they got off to a 7-1 start on the CT side of BIG's Ancient pick, but control rapidly slipped out of their grasp after that. BIG won 12 of the next 13 rounds in a dominant show of force on their map pick, moving the series on to Overpass.
The teams were closely matched on the Brazilian team's pick, with FURIA emerging on top of an embattled first half with a narrow lead. BIG regained their footing once on the offense, stringing together six rounds to pull ahead 11-7, but a late recovery from FURIA allowed them to keep the battle going into overtime, where they emerged victorious, 16-14.
BIG regained control on the Vertigo decider, however, offering FURIA little opportunity to complete the reverse-sweep. The Brazilian side's one big chance to pull ahead early into the first half was squandered as Elias "s1n" Stein scored a quad kill and 1v3 clutch to keep momentum in his team's favor, helping them mount a 7-1 before they closed things out in the second half, 13-5.
