BetBoom claim first title with CCT victory

The Russian squad have won a tournament after only a few months as a team.

BetBoom have claimed the CCT Central Europe Series 8 title thanks to a 2-1 victory over SINNERS, recovering from a loss on their own pick of Mirage (6-13) to reverse sweep the series with wins on Anubis (13-9) and Overpass (13-7).

SINNERS had every chance to make the series their own, taking a dominant win on their opponent’s map choice of Mirage and sitting pretty at 9-4 up on Anubis after winning the second-half pistol. The complete failure of their CT side granted BetBoom a decider, and the Russian squad made no mistakes with a comfortable win on Overpass.

Vladislav "⁠nafany⁠" Gorshkov continued to prove his doubters wrong with a strong display across the series, topping the scoreboard for his team, but Aleksandr "⁠KaiR0N-⁠" Anashkin’s 124 ADR demolition of SINNERS on Overpass was the pick of the performances.

Mirage opened the series and BetBoom were made to regret their map selection, floundering badly on the T side as SINNERS flew out to an 8-1 lead. A late recovery gave the Russians something to work with in the second half, and they won their CT pistol to give themselves further hope, but with only Pavel "⁠S1ren⁠" Ogloblin and nafany finding frags SINNERS were able to take control once their economy was in order. The Czech squad duly secured a comfortable 13-6 win.

Over on Anubis SINNERS seemed set to make it a quick 2-0, posting a solid 8-4 offensive half before winning their CT pistol. A BetBoom force buy turned the tides of the map, and SINNERS simply couldn’t handle the assertive offensive performances of KaiR0N- and nafany, allowing the Russians to grab nine rounds in a row and earn a 13-9 victory.

SINNERS never really got going on the decider of Overpass, with only Jindřich "⁠ZEDKO⁠" Chyba providing any real firepower as the Czech side struggled to match the superlative showing of KaiR0N-. A 4-8 loss of their T side seemed recoverable as they won their defensive pistol, but once again BetBoom broke the fragile CT economy with a force buy and the Russians romped to a straightforward 13-7 win, sealing the CCT Central Europe Series 8 title.
