G2 battered by Aurora in CCT Online Finals 5

In only their third official with nexa, G2 have suffered a chastening defeat.

m0NESY's form over G2's last two matches has been sub-par

G2 have suffered an early setback to life with Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković back among their number, falling down to the lower bracket of the CCT 2023 Online Finals 5 thanks to an 0-2 loss to Aurora.

The series was far from close as Aurora limited G2 to only eight rounds across two maps, comfortably brushing the European squad aside on Ancient (13-6) before absolutely embarrassing G2 on their own map pick of Nuke (13-2).

Rasmus "⁠HooXi⁠" Nielsen followed up a dreadful zero-kill, 0.10-rated map against Sprout on Sunday with another poor series here, but the performances of Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov will be more concerning for G2.

The Russian sniper was excellent in the team's opening match of CCT Online Finals but his last two series have been far below par, with four of his five maps played being rated below 1.00.

Over on Aurora's side of the server it was Evgeny "⁠Norwi⁠" Ermolin and Denis "⁠deko⁠" Zhukov who stole the show, with the former putting up a 1.81-rated performance on Ancient, before the latter utterly dominated Nuke to the tune of a 2.07 rating.

nexa seemed to take the negative result in stride, judging by his response to the loss on Twitter.

G2 still have the lower bracket to redeem themselves in the CCT event, where they will face off against Guild Eagles. Aurora meanwhile progress to the upper finals, where they will await the winner of a matchup between BIG and the in-form 9 Pandas squad.

Nah, the issue isn't that they, did, it's how they went about it. It would be one thing to have them say "we want to go in a different direction, thanks for your time," but what they did, leaving him out to dry and in the dark, that's the real dog act. I still respect hooxi, he of the lot of them actually said thanks. The rest however, if I posted what I really would like to say, I would probably get banned.

For the ghosting claim? Spunj, on multiple podcasts. If he was off the mark, they would have threatened him with defamation. As for hooxi saying something while there is silence from the rest, go have a look around their respective twitter accounts. Even G2 themselves only "announced" it as an afterthought comment under their post that nexa was coming in.
