Los Grandes set up new Brazilian lineup

JOTA and history headline a new squad, built in time for the North American open qualifiers to PGL Major Copenhagen.

Los Grandes merged with TeamOne in November 2022

A new Brazilian lineup has been formed by Los Grandes, who merged with TeamOne last year, featuring Jhonatan "⁠JOTA⁠" Willian and Allan "⁠history⁠" Lawrenz.

The lineup is completed by Henrique "⁠t9rnay⁠" Menacho, Leonardo "⁠leo_drk⁠" Oliveira, and in-game leader Paulo "⁠short⁠" Ballardini, confirming a Dust2.com.br report.

Three of the players — JOTA from Imperial, and history and t9rnay from Fluxo — have joined on loan with options to buy, while short and leo_drk are initially only contracted until June.

Alencar "⁠trk⁠" Rossato was considered for the lineup, and was on Los Grandes's books via TeamOne already, but was not ready to return to the team after medical issues.

The new squad have signed up for the January 8 North American open qualifier for PGL Major Copenhagen under the old TeamOne tag, a leftover from the fact that only FURIA and TeamOne were registered as NA organizations by PGL.

Should they make the Major, Alexandre "kakaveL" Peres, one of the organization's co-CEOs, confirmed that Los Grandes will compete with their own tag, in their own jersey, and have stickers of their own primary brand.

well Team One was a NA located org so I guess there is that, but yeah, on one side I agree that they should be playing SA open qualifiers for sure, but also now that pretty much all brazilian teams left NA, they should reconsider the number of closed qualify spots given to NA and SA, I won't get into the discussion of whether the tier 1 NA (disconsidering COL and Liquid) is worse or not than tier 1 SA (disconsidering Furia and Mibr), but you can't deny that there is a big difference in competiton, in terms of sheer number of professional teams that could give the top teams a fight. (just as an example, if this team tried going through the SA open qualifiers they wouldn't even be considerated a candidate)

Any teams can travel to any region and compete there if they are based on that region, doesn't matter where they're from. TeamOne (Los Grande) is based on North American so they can do that.
