autimatic is now a free agent after two years at EG

Timothy "⁠autimatic⁠" Ta's contract with Evil Geniuses has expired, and the Major-winner has departed the North American organization.

He will now embark on a one-to-three month break from competition, where he will "grind VALORANT for fun" and stream his progress.

The 27-year-old says he is open to offers after his break but did not confirm in which game. autimatic has recently been spotted playing alongside Braxton "⁠swag⁠" Pierce in scrims on VALORANT.

Wildcard take EG's place in Copenhagen RMR closed qualifier

"I'm so grateful that EG took the chance to bring me back to CS," autimatic said on Twitter. "Despite the negativity that surrounded EG during my tenure, there were so many great people who tried their best to support us and every player and coach I got the pleasure of playing with gave it their all with me."

The news leaves Colby "⁠Walco⁠" Walsh as the only player left on the side's books from the main roster, who has yet to confirm his situation as Evil Geniuses' Counter-Strike operation winds down.

Tim was good for multiple years, and obliterated 2016 SK in Brazil in ESEA S4 Finals. The issue for Tim is that he was a star player with a team mentality, so he stuck with sinking ship projects and strange roles for years after 2018. If you understood anything about NA's problems you'd know how rare that kind of personality actually is.

Yea I guess my statement was a bit harsh when there are alot of players that win tournaments without being the one carrying the team when needed. But I Guess it's alot easier to be that one in a T1 EU team than in a top NA team because of the big "skill-gap" that exist now between the regions. And I'm sad to see the big downward spiral that has been the US scene the past few years. Not even the SA produce many top players or teams now and we truly need both NA and SA to still be relevant as one of the biggest E-sports out there.

Nah he just plays with the wrong teammates, like almost all the EU players that goes to a NA teams is at best a solid T2 player. If not for the $$, I don't see why a T1 EU player would trade down from a T1 EU team to a much worse NA team. Almost all EU T1 players that don't have a team rather become a free agent for a while than moving to NA to collect checks.

He's got no support man. I've played comp CS for a long time. I've had great teams in main/adv, and I've had bad teams in main/adv. The reality of it is that your individual performance is heavily affected by your teammates, and your teams calling and prep work. Best teams I've played on I had good fraggers with solid understanding of micro and macro, and were adaptable and communicative and played off each other. Guess what: Gen G bad core, no calling. EG bad core, no calling. What's Tim supposed to do man? You HAVE to have teammates who can make the right decision at the right times, AND frag out. And having a good caller is a MUST. Part of Cloud9s success was that between tarik and Stew they were able to call dynamically at Tier 1. But there are no callers in NA who even understand the game at a T1 level, let alone be able to play with expectations and play dynamically. We'll just have to see how well daps can call with NRG (assuming that's NRGs move).
