Burmylov joins MOUZ NXT

The 16-year-old AWPer will continue his development in one of Europe’s most successful academy squads.

Burmylov links up with MOUZ NXT

MOUZ have announced the signing of Ukrainian player Denys "⁠Burmylov⁠" Buraga , who will play for the organization’s academy squad, MOUZ NXT. The 16-year-old will fill the vacancy created by Bram "⁠Nexius⁠" Campana’s transfer to OG.

Burmylov averaged a 1.21 rating during his year-long tenure with Ukrainian team Lazer Cats, who beat NAVI Junior to the ROG Cup title in the Winter 2022 and Summer 2023 seasons. In mid-December, he and three other players were moved to the bench as part of an overhaul of the squad.

The Ukrainian teenager will take up the AWP from Christoffer "⁠Chr1zN⁠" Storgaard, allowing the Danish IGL to focus on calling and rifling.

"Denys has extraordinary talent," MOUZ NXT coach Tobias "⁠TOBIZ⁠" Theo told HLTV. "He is humble, a fast learner and has incredible gameplay, which has made it easy to confirm what we have seen since we first noticed him, a year ago.

"With the conditions we can provide, I am sure we will see a future top-tier AWPer."

Burmylov is expected to make his first appearance with the team on Friday against Astralis Talent in the European Pro League 2nd Division's upper bracket final.

MOUZ NXT initially lost to The Prodigies in the first round of the playoffs before the result was overturned because of cheating allegations involving Alvar "⁠consss⁠" Rämman. The team went on to beat Aurora Young Blud in the upper bracket semi-finals with Kristoffer "⁠Kristou⁠" Aamand as a stand-in.

With Burmylov's addition, MOUZ NXT now have:

Not everyone follows only big events, im passionate about cs e-sport, and i check results of pretty much every tournament i can find... Burmylov played for example in Lazer Cats were he shined in lower tiers, thats why many users know him

Mouz have so much amazing talent on their hands, and bumrylov is no exception. Their nxt team is legitinately better than a lot of tier 2 teams despite just having lost nexius its crazy.

Nah, he wants to focus on his igling more.

Which also makes sense when you think about NXT as a stepping stone towards higher tiers of pro CS. Not a whole lot of good IGLs around, if he manages to develop into one, he 100% will get opportunities down the line.

But there's no need fo siuhy successor. Unless they plan to sell siuhy down the line, of course. Or keep the guy in academy until siuhy retires, which won't be happening any time soon since he is young.

Well of course mouz will try to keep siuhy, but who knows what is going to happen in 3-4 years when chr1zn is finally ready to IGL tier one, even if siuhy hasn't left by then mouz will probably just send chr1zn out on a loan (just like they did with siuhy) to let him develop, which gives about 5 years mouz can safely hold on to chr1zn incase siuhy leaves which will probably happen over the span of that time.

should also mention that AWPing while IGLing is far more difficult to do than rifling + IGLing. As far as I can remember, there are very few IGLs that also AWP. From memory, the only notable AWPing IGLs that exist, past and present, are cadiaN, Woro2k (although he shares the role around with sdy) Nifty, vanity, and FalleN.
