Aleksib continues his stellar record against his former teams.
Natus Vincere have done the double over G2 to secure a BLAST Spring Final spot after placing first in Group C.
Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen and company remain undefeated in 2024 with the victory. They traversed the Copenhagen Major Europe RMR Closed Qualifier with a 3-0 record and dropped just one map during BLAST Spring Groups.
A 2-0 win against Complexity started their campaign in Copenhagen before they beat G2 twice (2-1, 2-0) to book their spot in the BLAST Premier Spring Final, set to take place in London, United Kingdom, on June 12-16.
G2 decided to switch up the veto and ban Vertigo instead of Mirage after losing to Natus Vincere in the upper-bracket final earlier in the tournament. The gamble failed to pay off, as the Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen-led squad found just five rounds on the map and ended the series on a sour note.
A troubling fact for the team is also Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač's form, with the Bosnian rifler finishing the event as the lowest-rated player on his team with a 0.92 rating. "Since CS2 came out, I'm not performing the way that I want to perform," he admitted to James "BanKs" Banks.
G2 have one more chance to make it to the BLAST Premier Spring Final and will face off against the loser of FaZe vs. Liquid on Sunday.

G2's pick of Inferno began the series, and it was Justinas "jL" Lekavicius who secured the pistol round with a crisp 3k on the B site. Natus Vincere then came out on top of the resulting force-buy wars and ran away to a 5-1 lead, with Nemanja "nexa" Isaković and huNter- yet to frag at that point of the game. The aforementioned duo was then thrust into a 2vs3 post-plant situation and converted it with aplomb, helping their team to reduce the deficit to 5-7 at the switch.
The start of the second half was all in G2's favor as they took a 9-7 lead before Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov clutched out a 1vs3 situation to change the momentum of the game and put Natus Vincere on the trajectory to a 13-9 victory.
G2 began Mirage with an unlikely 2vs4 retake of the A site in the pistol, but their success didn't last long. Natus Vincere answered with a forcebuy and capitalized on huNter-'s whiffed spray to convert the round in their favor before running away to a 9-3 half, with Nikola "NiKo" Kovač getting his first frag in the final round.
G2 won the second pistol but didn't come close to mounting a comeback, as they lost four straight rounds and dropped the map with a 5-13 scoreline.
