PwnAlone is BOSS' new fifth player

BOSS have completed their lineup with the addition of former Party Astronauts and EG White member Josh "⁠PwnAlone⁠" Pigue, team coach Tommy "⁠Axed⁠" Ryan has announced. The 33-year-old joins the orgless roster on a permanent basis following the tragic passing of David "⁠cynic⁠" Polster earlier this week.

PwnAlone had announced a break from competition just two weeks ago, after Vagrants failed to qualify for the Americas RMR. He is best known for his time with EG White, with whom he won Fragadelphia 17 in September 2022.

The veteran AWPer will have very little time to acclimatise to his new team before Ace NA Masters Spring, the region’s qualifier for the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown. The online tournament, headlined by NRG, Wildcard and Nouns, will kick off on February 1.

According to Dust2.us, PGL and Valve initially rejected BOSS’ request to field an emergency substitute before acceding to it because of the extraordinary circumstances involved. The Americas RMR will take place in Monterrey, Mexico, between March 1 and 4, with 16 teams vying for five spots at PGL Major Copenhagen.

“Coming off my break early to support these guys in their time of need,” PwnAlone wrote on Twitter. “It's an honor that they picked me to stand in David's absence, and I hope I can make him and the team proud.”

eh, not really how it works. At best, the guys in BOSS just add his signature in their signatures as a tribute if they make it somehow.

I agree in theory but I hope they make it a free sticker in that case or make it so people can't make money from his sticker because people will undeniably use his sticker to make money which would genuinely suck.

Hmmm well don't a portion of the sticker money that valve makes goes to the players right ? so maybe if it was a paid sticker that money could go to young mental health charities which would be nice. I think you're right though, it wouldn't sit right if people made money off it in the long run

if they make it to the major valve should just give 1 sticker to every player with cynic's name that is non-tradeable.

valve isnt really the panderer type, but in Rio Major faven got the sticker instead of S1n so there might be some kind of "screwup" like that allowing cynic to have a signature at the expense of pwnalone
