sdy sidelined from Europe RMR B by illness
One of Monte's top-performing players will be out of action for at least the first day.

Monte's coach Sergey "lmbt" Bezhanov has revealed that Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev is currently ill, and as a result, is set to miss "at least the first day" of PGL Major Copenhagen Europe RMR B. In his stead, Monte are set to employ Monte Gen player Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen as a stand-in.
In the announcement, lmbt elaborated that Gizmy's substitution was contingent on the condition of sdy, and that the Ukrainian rifler would return to action as soon as he felt better.
sdy has been a crucial component in some of Monte's recent campaigns, most notably with his stellar performance at ESL Challenger Jönköping, where his 1.36 average rating powered his team to first place while securing him a career-first MVP. sdy followed up this placing with another strong showing, averaging a team-high 1.28 rating as Monte landed a semi-final finish at ESL Challenger Atlanta.

In addition to the loss of firepower, sdy's prolonged absence would also serve as a major setback to Monte's communications. Acting as the second shot-caller behind in-game leader Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletniuk, the team will need to be able to fill in the gaps left behind by the lack of sdy's input.
Stepping up to bat for sdy is British player Gizmy, a 19-year-old member of Monte Gen, the organization's recently-assembled academy lineup. This will not be the young Brit's first outing at an RMR, as Gizmy previously participated at BLAST.tv Paris Major Europe RMR A under the banner of Viperio.
As the lowest-ranked side in attendance, Viperio ultimately bowed out with a 0-3 record, but not before playing close matches against fnatic and Sprout.
Gizmy spent the last six months competing alongside Monte Gen and formerly The Prodigies. Gizmy has showcased some potential in recent outings, with a 1.31 average rating in the recent United21 League Season 10 standing out as a highlight amidst a 1.04 average rating across the past six months.

Monte are slated to kick off their campaign in the second Europe RMR versus Danish side ECSTATIC, who are on the rise after their recent runner-up finish in European Pro League Season 13.
