gla1ve and ENCE triumph over Astralis again to secure Copenhagen spot

ENCE take Astralis down 2-0 once more to send the Danes to the last chance qualifier.

gla1ve let his emotions escape after securing his first Major since Antwerp 2022

ENCE have repeated their Katowice play-in feat of beating Astralis 2-0 (Vertigo 13-6, Ancient 13-9) to qualify for PGL Major Copenhagen in convincing fashion.

The ENCE core now go into Copenhagen for their second Major appearance together after making the Legends stage at Paris, but this time with four-time Major winner Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander at the helm.

gla1ve becomes only the third Danish player to qualify, and he does so by overcoming his former team once again. "It means a lot to me, to everyone," the legendary IGL told James "BanKs" Banks post-game as he held back his tears. "I'm really happy we beat Astralis but I like them a lot, all the guys in the office too. I hope they make it."

Astralis are now staring down the barrel of missing three Majors in a row as they are sent down to the six-team Last Chance Qualifier.

The Danes cut dejected figures as their huge off-season investment continued to struggle on the server, losing all four pistols and failing to show any of the individual quality befitting a team with four of the top 20 players of 2023.

Vertigo has been a problem map for Astralis with five losses in a row and ENCE made it six with a blistering display on their pick. A clear game plan was in place as ENCE hit a struggling Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard on B early on to condition Astralis before flipping the script and dominating the Ramp as well.

A crucial 2vs4 ensured the momentum stayed in ENCE's hands as Paweł "dycha" Dycha punished jabbi under Ladder before rotating to B to grab a 7-1 lead that Astralis could not claw back.

Ancient was Astralis' pick, just like it had been in Katowice, and things improved for the Danes as they earned a 7-4 lead despite going down 0-3 once again.

But, losing yet another pistol, going 0-4 for the series, put ENCE back in the driving seat at 8-7 up and Astralis would not get on the board for another few CT rounds.

Some openers were picked up by the Danes but some misguided re-aggressions down B Ramp early in the half cost them, before gla1ve stepped up a gear with some mid and late round fakes at the close. A trademark B rush at 11-9 then sealed the deal as ENCE punched their tickets in for the Copenhagen Major in style.

It's crazy. Can they fire fucking baitf already? No team he played ever made it. The players always says "ho works so hard". That's really not much of a compliment. If you thought he was a great igl or teammate you would have said that. But noone ever does. Mechanics great and less baity than before. But how can he fuck up leading a team with 4 top20 players?

I think the Polish/Danish thing would be better than full English. If you make it all English then it kinda loses the identity of the original song imo

This win feels so good on every level. Sure, ENCE has looked mighty inconsistent during this RMR, but they stepped up when stakes were the highest. RAKIETA 🚀 Also, big props to ENCE leadership. Losing key players time after time and yet still managing to come up with rosters good enough to qualify for the Major. 7 Majors in a row with 4 different cores is a pretty crazy thing to do. Ditto managing to actually stay in the green financially, considering how many orgs fail to do so.

I'm not going to lie, I was badly worried about this roster myself. 9INE was not doing too well in recent months, dycha struggled to find form since CS2 release and with gla1ve there was no way to know how well he would call with a Polish stack. But hey, the magic is still there. As for Heroic, I would only expect this team to get better. The roster is sneaky solid, and Nertz still brings that star firepower. Will be rooting for GL today though, I want to see big man Snax in the Major again. Would be ideal if loser of this game qualified through LCQ though.

I dont think your were the only one. ENCE fans had to be distressful as it seemed weird Glave IGLing banch of Polish guys. But I guess its working well. True true. I think its gonna be interesting match to watch and close one. Even tho I admire Snax I wish for Heroic to win.

It kind of felt like everyone had a valid reason to be upset with that roster. Again, glad to be proven wrong. Heroic-GL... yeah, I'm not even going to try to guess who wins this. There is no score that would completely surprise me here. Odds feel a bit harsh towards GL, but then, odds don't play.

I am still convinced that Jabbi is the only player that will fit in any team rather then all other Danish players. And it is not only blameF—there is no good Danish entry fraggers in the scene right now if u discount IGLs. In heroic he is good cuz he has freedom to do what he wants but not in blameF system when he IGL to pad stats for himself.

Konfig was pretty good when he was with astralis. Seemed like the missing entry fragger back then. They could get the entry fragger from estatic or the one from preazy. And yeah blamef gets position so he doesnt die and statpad.

Well yes, but after that they showed alot of disappointment in results. And as 2023 went on, their results had become worse, like losing in open qualifications, etc. I'm pretty sure nobody expected them to pass through RMR again and surely nobody expected them to play at Spodek Arena.

Actually they didnt went close vs #2 Heroic on Ancient but they lost because choked a lot of rounds then the game vs NIP (when they were decent) where mynio threw a game by missing shot in the back the game went to OT and they lost. In Cologne they almost won vs ENCE but choked and lost the game after it was brought to OT

Gla1ve brought consistency with mynio they had high peaks and they were very reliant on individual performance. Some of the games looked hades go kill and it worked vs G2 and Vitality but later on they needed to play better that third game since he went missing. Ever since gla1ve joined hades is probably feeling less pressure because the rounds are somewhat constructed

Astralis need to adjust their roles. BlameF cannot both call and perform. Maybe before he could, but now he should try building setups around others and focus more on calling. Astralis don’t have a coach as well which puts even more responsibility on blamef. Becoming 1st entry is questionable cause jabbi and staehr are fairly good in entrying but I would maybe try staehr as 2nd entry with stavn as staehr was phenomenal since the start of the year but again, it is questionable, cause his output on entry/anchor is well beyond expectations and you don’t have to fix what ain’t broke. I also feel like jabbi feels deprived as anchor on ct side. So maybe blamef taking anchor role also sounds reasonable. Idk, it just seems strange that so much firepower is wasted cause of not adapting to the opponents’ play, bad utility management and 2 players consistently underperforming cause of their roles on ct, and bad trades on t

Eons pass. Celestial bodies journey across the nightscape, and past the turns of many, many moons, no roster stays eternal. The First Scions of the Titan died, and their legacy went out in flames. However, one remained, now at the helm of those born to win. Under the Titan's flag, many a mortal man has since donned the dark-tinted armor, etched with the ever-vigilant face of the tentacular monstrosity. Under its watchful gaze, stars have been born. Legacies have been written. Legends have been baptized in fire. Even the most storied of histories will be forgotten, as they are but fleeting glimpses in the flux of time. But the Spirit of the Titan will always find its way. In death, new life is always forged. So it also goes for the shell in which the spirit builds its engine. A myriad of mighty warriors, each always carrying more than their own weight, have come and go under the flag in recent years. But only change may repeat itself. With new history behind them, the warriors went their ways, and the spirit was again without engine. Someone will always answer its call. The Titan rallied the brave soldiers of Poland, second to none. When the need was most dire, these men picked up their gun's. As is befitting, only steel yet unbent may be forged into legend. The God of the Underworld in hades. The New Legend of Poland in dycha. The stalwart brothers in arms, Kylar and Goofy. An unshaken and stalwart anvil in kuben holds firm, as the legend takes shape under the strike of gla1ve, whose hammer forged the very foundations of the game we play today. The former leader of the legendary Star Legion would eventually rise and put his former legacy to rest by laying his old organization out of the competition. As before, so again, shall the Titan’s legacy be rewritten as the doubted ones quite literally polish the stains from the armor meant for his followers. The Rakieta is released to rise and wreak havoc against its competition. The foolish yet doubt, while those who know better are wise to fear what is to come. Above, a roar splits the heaven. Beneath, tremors run through the terrified land. All around the restless waters, the Scions' rocket breaks the waves, swooping low to soar ever higher. Ever to excel. ENCE has returned. #EZ4ENCE #rakieta #bober (poland please teach me the lore behind these?)

Astralis will never acomplish anything with blameF in the team. I don't care how good his aim is, he just doesnt work as an IGL and his playstyle is not worthy of an IGL (he reminds me of Happy from envyus, heavy baiter. Although blame has much better aim then happy)
