There could be a last-minute replacement for the first CS2 Major.

9 Pandas might not be able to attend the Major

9 Pandas could miss PGL Major Copenhagen because of travel issues, multiple sources have told HLTV. GamerLegion are on standby to replace the Russian team if necessary.

With less than 48 hours to go before the Major starts, only two of 9 Pandas' players have arrived in Copenhagen, forcing PGL to look for a potential replacement. The tournament organizer has turned to GamerLegion, who finished second in the European last-chance qualifier after losing to 9 Pandas in the first-place decider.

If the change comes through, it should not impact the seeding for the Opening Stage. GamerLegion would be the sixth-highest-ranked European team in the first stage, according to Valve's regional standings, just like 9 Pandas are. In the first round, Janusz "⁠Snax⁠" Pogorzelski's troops would take on AMKAL.

Earlier on Friday, Denis "⁠seized⁠" Kostin suggested something negative had happened. "No way…" he wrote on X/Twitter. "I can’t believe."

Contacted by HLTV, PGL declined to comment.

They had to instantly add the new team in the sticker capsules, so the Flash Gaming capsules are very rare. Because most people don't buy stickers in the first few days. Mynio brought them to tier 1.They had no mentality to stay there for much longer,but had a lot of great ideas and their Vertigo was world class. I remember Kei never delivering when it mattered,Hades was never performing on tier 1 or just showing up for one game(he should be the one with experiance and he should be performing),Kylar just being bad at tier 1 events.I think they did great with such a little things to work with If your players doesn't show up then you are not going to do anything.Nexa couldn't make OG work,Cadian can't make Liquid work.

xD Acor is inconsistent and one of main reason GL loses, one game he does 30 bombs and next takes only meaningless frags. Keoz rating past 6 months is 0.94 as lurker, not delivering in most important games. Isak is inconsistent, same like acor. Snax managed to keep 1.02 as igl that have to watch map, communicate and create tactics. He almost dragged those frauds to the major by himself.

applying beforehand is not viable, because they have to apply for sportsman visa, which should be accompanied with direct invite from organizers. And it takes literally month or two to get regular visa, so this is complicated

if sticker money is indeed that good then team should get together and hire a private jet flight for missing pieces. Even the most luxurious private jet will be a fraction of what 9 pandas will earn from stickers. Hopefully org has a leverage to pull that off

If they arrive late (after opening matches) but do arrive, a kind thing to do is for whoever replaces them to be their interim team until 9pandas make it to Copenhagen. Meaning, if let's say GL plays the first game for them or even qualify to elimination stage and 9pandas arrive, 9 pandas take over. No logistics prevent them from doing that. Release stickers of both team or only for 9pandas if valve can't make both stickers work. Give the interim team a grafity on some map maybe. The team who plays the interim team gets a good PR boost as they're seen as heroes. Nothing negative for both teams.

people already chaning pickems. Notice how they say, "would miss" or "at risk". It's not for 100% certain yet. Doesnt effect most people pickems anyways. I and most others likely neither had them for 3-0, 0-3 or advancing. GL would likely be the same. But its likely best to just wait. Still have over a day before pickems are final.
