KaBuM set to make CS return

The Brazilian organization is eyeing teams and players with the goal of reaching a Major in 2025.

KaBuM was a pioneering name in Brazilian CS:GO

KaBuM, named after a hardware e-commerce company, was the first organization from Brazil to go far in a Major Qualifier, and now it is ready to make a comeback in CS2 according to Julio Cesar Trajano, the company's CEO.

"Our project is to start expanding. The other day I was with Gaules, who I met a year ago and became a fan of. He gives me a lot of insight," Trajano said. "I brought him to talk to our managers at Magalu [KaBuM's parent company] and he's going to help KaBuM get into CS."

Sources told Dust2.com.br that the organization's directors are already analyzing players and teams currently available on the market and that plans are already underway. KaBuM's focus is to put together a team with hopes of possibly participating at a Major in 2025.

Foundational CS:GO players in Brazil like Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, Ricardo "boltz" Prass, and Lucas "steel" Lopes all donned the organization's jersey during Brazil's breakout on the international scene in 2015, passing the ESL One Katowice 2015 Main Qualifier before signing for Keyd.

Asia and Americas gain spots for Shanghai Major

Brazilian teams are far from the country's heyday when the evolution of that KaBuM team — with some changes and under the Luminosity and SK banners —, won back-to-back Majors. But several good performances from teams from the South American country at the recent PGL Major in Copenhagen, namely paiN, Imperial and FURIA, gave the Americas region hope for the future and an extra slot at the coming Major in Shanghai.

Depends on who's paying the bill. It could be that "one of the biggest retail stores in brazil", as previous guy put it, just using a brand they now own that had presence in CS before to get at least some instant recognition.

Honestly if they give the team to VVV, kabum will have a major winning caliber team. They may not have brazilian players or brazilian majority, but the king of adjusting knows too much about CS. In VVV i trust, he will build mouzsports 2.0

it was media reports, furia didnt say anything cause for them nothing changed maybe they wouldve sold him if he wanted but he wanted to stay for now (knowing his contract will expire soon also) I think he's still so good that he can easily get whatever he wants. Not many tournaments left anyway until player break.

unsure we will ever see SK again because of CS' usage of terrorist and counter-terrorist and how that impacts their sponsors. SK doesn't want to be involved in any titles that are "too violent", supposedly because of their T-Mobile and Mercedes sponsors specifically. source (not super great but a source): escorenews.com/en/valorant/news/36220-sk..

It’s their loss. Second largest esport and will continue going up. If it was because of how expensive CS is then it would’ve been valid. But because of sponsors being whiny is such a shit excuse lmao.

Put your hate aside and look at it objectively. There are very few people on this planet earth that has more knowledge and experience in counter-strike. he founded and played on g3x in 2000-2001 and then became Dreamhack Champion as coach for mibr in 2007 wihch was a "major" status back in the days

as some guy pointed out in another reply, there is his streaming persona and then there is his business persona or real self. But you must remember it all depends on what kinda budget we are talking about. How much funds could Kabum possibly have. And now that I read the article word for word again -"KaBuM's focus is to put together a team with hopes of POSSIBLY participating at a Major in 2025.", that doesent sound very confident at all. Just please no more TACO, Boltz, Coldzera or Fallen. They are all free agents or will be soon lol. if we get any one of these, or all of them, I will buy you a beer and have a laugh.

Although his capabilities of building a team are unknown, it's simply false what you said about knowledge of brazilian region, I mean, the literary watches CS do living for what, 8 years by now? And sure he does focus on the bigger teams but he also broadcast smaller brazilian tournaments as well, also I doubt there are many people in a better position to get insides on players contracts and all that, also from the article I assume he's going to be more of an adviser to the org than properly managing it

Great to see more Brazilian Orgs returning to the scene, but instead of picking expensive and experienced names, I would save money and try to get some players from academies and just one 1 experienced player to teach or give them some insights.
