vilga's Fearless Cheetahs disbands

Things "didn't work out the way we wanted," according to the former Nigma Galaxy captain.

vilga is searching for a new team once again

Fearless Cheetahs have parted ways after just two months together, with the decision coming barely a week after the conclusion of ESL Impact League Season 5 Europe's online stage.

vilga headlines new ESL Impact team

The team formed in February after Nigma Galaxy — now Pigeons — parted ways with Ksenia "vilga" Kluenkova in January, with the Russian in-game leader linking up with the core of the former 9 Pandas Fearless roster ahead of Impact League Season 5.

Fearless Cheetahs performed well in the online Europe group stage, finishing with a 4-1 record in Group B, but missed out on directly qualifying for the Season 5 Finals in Dallas due to a lost head-to-head matchup with NAVI Javelins, who also ended Group B with a 4-1 record.

vilga's side then faltered to BIG EQUIPA to miss out on the offline finals entirely, making it the first time the former captain of the two-time women's team of the year won't play at an Impact League Finals since the circuit's creation. Insult to injury was added when the team lost the fifth-place decider match, played in case a replacement team is needed, to GUILD fe.

"Unfortunately it didn’t work out with Fearless Cheetahs the way we wanted, so we decided to part ways," vilga stated on X. "I’m still eager to compete, I’m a hardworking person, and I think I can bring a lot to any team, so if you are interested, you can contact me.

"Meanwhile I am going to take some time off to evaluate my future plans and options."

I assume what happened when Impact circuit was created by ESL is that ESL made a deal with partners in such way that ESL will help ogs with expenses for the project in exchange for orgs committing to that project for X amount of that. I assume we have reached that amount of time, someone took their calculator out and realized that this is not sustainable. This is based on nothing, just my opinion because of how business works and money flows.

it is what it is, we always knew that impact won't deliver on the skill level compared to rest of competition so they needed to be more entertaining, let their personalities out and just have fun with skits. They needed to take more risks but they didn't, they acted like they were well established and without competition. I wouldn't blame it on players cause they were just brought into that professional world and it takes a bit to be loose, especially when everyone around you is confused af. It's management who assumed they'll just magically get views by not doing anything unique to earn them. Sure players could have self initiated that for some clout but that wasn't a thing. Grace period is out, no one can cover their bills so it's an exit strategy to cut the losses.

No, yeah I mean I agree with you, and especially on that there should be done something special so the casual viewers would be more entertained, it's just kinda sad to see the teams disband, because I personally still really liked it, and would like to get more women involved in cs

It's really hard you know. I mean it's hard enough to tune in to watch tier 2 CS or tier 2 football when we can watch the tier 1 stuffs. Really hope that there's something special that they can bring to the table because if they keep sticking to this normal professional esport stuff the scene can't support itself.

Women cs - orgs want it but don't know how to profit from it because nobody watches it.

G2 Oya closing and splitting the team across all the scene has made Impact spicy again.

This is very sad, the female CS has always been poorly developed and now it looks like they want to remove it altogether. I think it is necessary for the community of PRO players and the CS community to get together and decide whether a women’s CS is needed at all, if so, then provide them with a league of 10-15 teams from all continents for 3 years and provide them with the opportunity to play in parallel at major tournaments with the guys and get also some $
