zews: "We're trying to figure out every possibility to make ourselves better"

Liquid's coach joined HLTV confirmed alongside Twistzz and kept his cards close to his chest.

Liquid have been in an adjusting period ever since coming together at the start of the year, trying to find the best way to mesh all of the different styles on the roster. Despite a relative uptick in form before IEM Dallas, Casper "cadiaN" Møller and company suffered a group stage exit at the North American event after losses to 9z and a Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen-less G2.

Reports about the potential exit of cadiaN had already emerged after their exit from Pro League, with a decision expected to be made after IEM Dallas. With results not going Liquid's way, the writing seems to be on the wall for the Danish IGL, but team coach Wilton "zews" Prado remained coy about the possibility of changes.

Sources: Liquid weighing up cadiaN's future

"There are a lot of leaks and rumors going around," he said on the latest episode of 'HLTV Confirmed,' where he appeared alongside Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken. "We're trying to figure out every possibility to make ourselves better. Sometimes the pieces fit together, sometimes not."

"A lot of this is repetition," he added. "You have to go through the series and see the mistakes to know what needs to be fixed, and we've been messing up a lot. But we now know how we want to get to the light at the end of the tunnel."

A day earlier, cadiaN had made a short comment to James "BanKs" Banks after the team's exit from IEM Dallas, also giving a cryptic answer about his future and ultimately admitting that it has not been a seamless process.

"Things are not meshing as they should be," cadiaN said. "Ultimately, I also want to be at a place where I'm happy and where I can be the cadiaN everyone knows, playing my style and doing my things, my moves and clutches. Whether that's here or somewhere else, time will tell."

If the team were to make a change, replacing cadiaN seems to be a tough task as he fills the IGL and AWP roles. Twistzz said on the show that he is used to being a strong voice on the team. "I play a lot of the spots that a rifler IGL would play, and that's forcing me to be very vocal."

Whether the Canadian superstar will transition to IGLing or the team will go down a different path, Liquid have ample time to make a decision as IEM Dallas was their last tournament of the season.

You can watch the full HLTV Confirmed show below. Liquid's appearance on the episode starts at 1:09:00.

twistzz has been wanting to igl since his time on faze. he probably planned that once karrigan retired, he would become the igl. it's why he said he wanted to play with ropz and broky for the rest of his career.

i dont really care lmao, the whole "make your star player into your igl" thing never works long term, also twistzz being an igl in faze wouldve only been feasible because there wouldve been so many star players around him, what do you want him to do with a washed yekindar and bot skullz

I don't want to see it happen. just saying, it seems like something twistzz wants to do and not something force upon him. besides, even though twistzz has starpower, he's always been more of a support player.

+1 its like making yekindar igl (as in he was liquids best player at the time) but its literally the best player in the history of the org, there is no fucking way liquid is so shortsighted to do this

it's not about nationalities. they're still top 11, while there are lots of full european teams sucking hard.

guys should actually watch before you start trash talking. twistzz basically implies he's been doing alot of the mid round calling already. Pretty sure he described them as throwing rounds and cadian definitely has his share of round throws on each map as well. Where if he just learned to compromise and show some restraint, they'd easily be in playoffs. But he seems dead set in the entire team adapting to his playstyle. And it's simply just not working.

Well it's a double edged sword, Liquid knew what they were getting and the playstyle CadiaN likes. And not fully trusting your IGL is a recipe for failure. Even karrigan/AleksiB know that

if they embraced his playstayle their games would be even worse. They still made top 10 in under 5 months since forming. List any other team that;s done that.

Any playoffs this team has gotten into has just been a complete fluke EPL they beat- 1. The worst looking Furia we have seen in ages that just got rid of their IGL + academy stand in 2. Monte with 2 academy stand ins to get to the playoffs 3. FLYQUEST in the playoffs Its so annoying seeing them talk about "Oh we made it to these playoffs look at our progress" but when you actually look at the teams they are beating to get there you can see any team that had their spot would've gotten in and gotten the same results they did. As soon as they face actual opposition like Dallas we see what happens

“ As soon as they face actual opposition like Dallas we see what happens” So when they face the best teams they lose? Oh my color me shocked Anyway, 9z is sure looking like a “best” team playing like this I’ll say. And it’s not like 9z blew them out of the water, very close game

zews is a terrible coach, haven't won anything in forever and his play style is way, skullz wouldn't be ever in a team like liquid, but he's there due nepotism of his fellow country man zews, so in short kick those Brazilians from Liquid, don't get me wrong if you want to hire better Brazilians well there is KSCERATO, biguzera, IDK there are tons of better options in BR
