Xoma named new Virtus.pro coach

Xoma is Virtus.pro's new head coach

Virtus.pro have confirmed the appointment of Andrey "⁠Xoma⁠" Mironenko as head coach. He will replace Dastan "⁠dastan⁠" Akbayev, who was relieved of his duties after a series of mixed results on LAN.

A Counter-Strike veteran who began his career in the early 2000s, Xoma played on some of the biggest Russian teams in 1.6, including forZe, EYESports and Meet Your Makers. He officially entered CS:GO only in 2017, taking up coaching a year later on Underdogs.

After working with teams like Winstrike and Entropiq as an assistant coach, Xoma took 9 Pandas' reins in March 2023 and guided the team to PGL Major Copenhagen through the last-chance qualifier. However, visa issues prevented the Russian side from attending the Major.

Virtus.pro remove dastan

Xoma inherits a team that is still trying to combine all of its parts following the high-profile arrival of Denis "⁠electroNic⁠" Sharipov from Cloud9. With the former NAVI player in the squad, Virtus.pro have finished 5th-8th in ESL Pro League 19, 5th-6th at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade, and 9th-12h at IEM Dallas.

Virtus.pro CEO Nikolai Petrossian stated his belief that Xoma "is prepared for this challenge" despite his lack of tier-one coaching experience.

"Through his work, he has earned the chance at the tier-1 level, and we are ready to give him the opportunity to prove himself," Petrossian told Virtus.pro's website.

"Our roster needs a fresh perspective on the game and assistance with updating our playbook to ensure that we meet the current meta and are prepared to outplay any opponents, regardless of external factors.

"Moreover, the new coach will need to nurture stability within the team dynamics and develop a system of play where our stars can maximize their strengths."

Xoma will begin working with the team on June 17. At the upcoming BLAST Premier Spring Final in London, it will be analyst Pavel "⁠PASHANOJ⁠" Legostaev guiding the team.

It's neither interesting nor funny , but something around 2007-2008 when xoma was young he was so arrogant and one day started to argue with some Ru cs 1.6 guys and his last argument was like "what your last lan placement? top8? My lan skill is top-3" proplay.ru which was like a hltv for ru had an offtopic forum with IQ lower than average room temperature, created shit ton of memes based on this phrase. I said at the start not funny , and not interesting)

This will change nothing, the issue of VP is the ultra conservative calling style of Jame, the missing balls and courage in their game play.
