YaLLa Compass 2024Astralis through to semi-finals at YaLLa Compass
The Danish team are set for another showdown with The MongolZ, this time in a best-of-three setting.
Astralis have locked in a spot in the semi-final stage of YaLLa Compass 2024 after beating BetBoom 2-1. It was a hard-fought win by the Danish team, who started off very well but lost steam as the match wore on, with the final map of the series going to overtime.
In the next round of the playoffs, Astralis will meet the red-hot The MongolZ, who topped Group A with a 4-1 record. During the group stage, Astralis ran out 13-8 winners on Inferno, but Nicolai "device" Reedtz is taking nothing for granted.
"They are one of the teams that are coming in hot," device said after the match. "We beat them on Inferno, but it's a best-of-three now. I'm excited to play them. Hopefully, the guys here will cheer for us tomorrow."

Astralis came out guns blazing and romped to a 9-3 lead on the CT side of Nuke, their map pick. Alexander "br0" Bro raised eyebrows with an ace in the ninth round, but as the first half came to an end, device was monopolising the top of the scoreboard with a 2.14 rating.
After losing the ensuing pistol round and two ecos, BetBoom put together a streak of rounds, but their comeback attempt was soon thwarted.
BetBoom looked likeliver from the start on Mirage, where Aleksandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko posted a jaw-dropping 2.62 rating and 146 ADR to guide his team to a 10-2 lead. Astralis began to mount a comeback in the second half after losing the pistol round, but five rounds were all that they could come up with.
It all came down to Ancient, where the first half ended in a 6-6 stalemate after a late recovery from BetBoom. The Russian team carried that momentum into the second half, but then Astralis responded with a six-round streak to secure match point.
BetBoom were unwilling to throw in the towel and bagged the final two rounds of the half to force overtime. However, their efforts were for naught as Astralis enjoyed a flawless 3-0 T run, thanks to a key 1v2 clutch by device.
