9z finish the first half of 2024 on a high note

9z secured victory at the FiReLEAGUE 2024 Global Finals after taking down fnatic in a swift 2-0 grand final to wrap up their season.

Maximiliano "⁠max⁠" Gonzalez's troops raised the trophy in their organization's home turf of Buenos Aires, Argentina, not long after a stellar run at IEM Dallas, where the South American underdogs reached the semi-finals after defeating MOUZ, Liquid, and Vitality.

Immediately after IEM Dallas, 9z struggled to recapture their LAN form, faltering to domestic rivals RED Canids and Imperial in the ESL Challenger League Season 47 playoffs, which deprived them of a place in ESL Pro League Season 20.

Despite the setback, 9z returned to their winning ways on LAN. They recovered from an opening BO1 loss to Ninjas in Pyjamas by securing second place in Group A over regional opponents BESTIA and paiN.

After kicking off their playoff run with a dominant victory over Antonio "⁠MartinezSa⁠" Martinez's former Movistar Riders teammates, now in KOI, 9z squared off against Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer's fnatic in the grand final.

9z came into the European side's pick of Inferno swinging after emerging victorious in a fiercely-contested Dust2. A stellar showing from MartinezSa, who finished the map with a 1.91 rating, propelled the Latin American squad to victory and put the cherry on top of the first half of the 2024 season: a trophy lift in front of the home fans.

Dust2.com.br, who were covering the event live on site, gave the Spanish AWPer the first-ever Dust2 Brazil MVP award. He ended the event with 1.43 rating, 80.8 ADR, 82,9% KAST and 1.55 impact rating.

"I think we can play any team in the world right now," MartinezSa told the Brazilian outlet after the match. "We don't have a limit, we can play teams in Europe, America, anywhere."

Because Gaules is not exactly a "commentator". It is an informal broadcast, interacting, having fun and reacting to the game with viewers. That's why it doesn't make sense to people who aren't Brazilian and don't speak Portuguese... you'll never understand.

9z as a whole did an amazing tournament, literally top 4 players are 9z's and buda's rated the 10th best player of the event. Martinez don't need a better team, 9z is far better than most EU teams and probably better than any NA team. He would be an upgrade only for Heroic (which already made their move), Furia (u don't want him there) and Ence (who's much worse than 9z rn)
