The Esports World Cup seems poised to return in 2025, with an announcement on Twitter stating that the Riyadh-based tournament would be hosted in July and August next year.
ESL had previously announced tournament dates for 2025 that feature a tournament running from August 20-24, a possible date for EWC's return.
Playing Virtus.pro in their deciding Showdown match for a spot in the BLAST Premier Fall Final, Falcons were just about to lose their grip on map one.
That was until Álvaro "SunPayus" García clutched the 1v4 in the 23rd round to avert the comeback:
After first unveiling Samuel "Zyppe" Martinsson as their new coach, GODSENT have now announced their new all-Swedish Counter-Strike lineup. The team features three members from the organization's former academy team, Young Gods, and looks as follows:
Charlie "Cham" Ahlm
Leo "Wonder" Wänlund
Frank "Fraaank" Issal
Liam "MaiL09" Tügel
Timmy "Snow" Bruhn
Samuel "Zyppe" Martinsson (coach)
The organization spared no words of praise when speaking about their talent, saying the team has an ability to "become absolute world-class in a short time" and calling 15-year-old MaiL09 a "true god" and "likely the next Lionel Messi of Swedish CS."
On X, BLEED coach Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović admitted that he is unsure what the future will hold after his team failed to qualify for the Europe RMRs.
BLEED were defeated by GamerLegion 2-0 in the final round of the Swiss stage. On Mirage, the second map of the series, they let a 12-3 lead slip before losing the game in overtime.
"Embarrassing, really," kassad wrote. "Not sure what's next."
Amidst all the RMR chaos, paiN have eliminated Cloud9 from the BLAST Fall Showdown in a two-map series.
Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt and company won Nuke 13-8 and then weathered a Cloud9 comeback, started by Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov's ace, to win Mirage 13-9.
