The organization makes another change to its coaching staff after just three months.

PASHANOJ stepped in to coach VP at BLAST Spring Final

Virtus.pro has moved head coach Andrey "⁠Xoma⁠" Mironenko to the bench and replaced him with their analyst, Pavel "⁠PASHANOJ⁠" Legostaev, ending the former's short-lived three-month stint as the team's skipper. The decision was "made after detailed discussions with the players of the team," according to the announcement on the organization's website.

Xoma named new Virtus.pro coach

The change comes amidst Virtus.pro's continued struggles since the blockbuster signing of Denis "⁠electroNic⁠" Sharipov in April. The team initially made playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 19 and reached the semis of Esports World Cup and BLAST Spring Final, but evidence of a stylistic mismatch between players quickly became evident and VP has been unable to find a solution.

In June, Xoma replaced long-time head coach Dastan "⁠dastan⁠" Akbayev as the organization made its first change in an effort to turn things around. However, the same stylistic issues and drop-off in performance from Evgenii "⁠FL1T⁠" Lebedev continued to plague the team as they failed at BLAST Fall Groups, IEM Cologne, BetBoom Dacha, and BLAST Fall Showdown.

"Xoma is a talented coach with a deep understanding of the game," Virtus.pro CEO Nikolai Petrossian stated about the change on the organization's website. "We sincerely thank him for his work and dedication. Currently, Virtus.pro management, together with Andrey, is working on finding the best option for his future career."

PASHANOJ has been Virtus.pro's analyst since July 2023 and briefly stepped in as coach between dastan's dismissal and Xoma's appointment at BLAST Spring Final, where VP finished in 3-4th place. He was previously the assistant coach of K23 and takes over as VP's skipper ahead of their ESL Pro League Season 20 campaign.

The club now needs to focus on the current challenges the CS2 roster is facing, so we will refrain from additional comments on this situation," Petrossian's statement concluded.

norb3rt would have to be changed. Since he hit his best form on Rio, he has been a joke later on. Also the way elec wants them to play is essentially very loose CS with good structure. Jame, fame is good enough for that but norb3rt and FL1T unsure. Probably not

Individual plays based on feeling and read of a player or going for duels with decent/high percentages. When they do get an opener or potential information they go back to the structure to play more protocol & conditioning based CS. This is probably what FaZe & G2 should aim for. When it comes to VP it's more tactical approach even with electronic they don't have a lot of firepower to do that. The reason why they played so slow and methodical as they did was that they tried to minimalize the lack of firepower, tactically push opponent into putting out various moves that you can read or go on the back of protocol. Forcing players that go for various play to be in blind about what is going on midround. Essentially being great counter to teams like mentioned (G2 & FaZe), NaVi, Vitality plays more methodical and slow now although not as much as VP used to. Sometimes when you play against Vitality, NaVi now it looks like they should be there but they are not there and when it comes to Vitality, you always expect ZywOo in diff place and he's in the place your coming to - since he's the one setup when required. EDIT: I mean lets say if they got like Kyousuke or Magnojez or both they would probably have firepower for these kind of plays. But idk if their roles suit the team

They are playing very loose until they have to play midround, lateround only then they will play more structural CS. The players just get a read and go for the duel usually with high percentage as was done in NaVi with elec before. If they had a player like Magnojez or Kyousuke or both. Probably would've worked, however i don't know their exact roles

So basicly what you say is that elec needs a player like when he played in navi with simple (back in the glory of csgo) as back then simple was the only one in navi who would move around freely depending on what he wants to do and where to picka a fight. At Rio he was probably one of the best players with his role. He slowly started to get worse after the event and yes he was insanely good at OVP but you can't be one map player

There was clearly a clash during the Betboom Dacha between Jame and Electronic vs. Xoma, refusing to fistbumps and yelling at each other, lol. Surely atmosphere inside the team sucked, change was imminent, I hope for better

There was a lot of tension in match between Falcons and Virtus Pro in lower bracket, surely they were arguing on backstage, here is clip: twitch.tv/fissure_cs_eng/clip/Altruistic.. The funniest thing is that happened after they won map 1, so it shows how bad is relation between them. If it's elec vs. Xoma, Jame is clearly on elec side.

That's interesing, I haven't seen this before. I was more expecting confrontation between elec and Jame. The questions is why they removed dastan and why they didn't bring him back if there was problem with xoma. But over all better Pashanoj than xoma.

both jame and elec played tier1 and have lots of experience. xoma is basically a tier2 coach without any tier1 exp. i can easily see why they dont like his ideas and dont respect him.

Jame is so nice guy, he has a lot respect for everybody. I think, that maybe xoma disrespected his ideas or something like that but we don't know full story. The fact is that atmosphere in the team since Xoma's arrival wasn't too good. The statement says that the decision was made after talks with players so surely something wasn't right between players and coach.

Was kinda obvious since that whole Kair0n-Norbert story. When something doesn't work in the team - the new guy gets the shit treatment. But I guess Elec is too high of a price and too high of a profile to give him that.
