Media: MIBR in advanced talks with Lucaozy

The Fluxo rifler could be headed to MIBR ahead of the Shanghai Major Americas RMR.

Lucaozy is once again a target of MIBR's interest

MIBR are in advanced negotiations with Fluxo to acquire Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves ahead of the final stretch of 2024, according to a report by Dust2.br. A definitive choice as to who Lucaozy would replace on MIBR has still not been made, the report added.

The 22-year-old rifler's contract is reportedly set to expire in December, with the negotiations offering Fluxo a chance to secure a transfer fee before his contract comes to an end.

MIBR, in turn, are trying to acquire Lucaozy ahead of their Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR campaign. The roster registration deadline for the event is set for September 8, but teams have until September 22 to make any further changes.

Fluxo failed to reach the Americas RMR after they were upset by KRÜ in their opening match of the South America closed qualifier and later lost to RED Canids in the fourth-place decider, opening up the possibility for Lucaozy to transfer teams.

It is not the first time MIBR has shown interest in the Brazilian rifler. The organization previously lined up a $280,000 bid to buy Lucaozy from Fluxo in May 2023, but the player rejected the deal and chose to remain with his current team.

Lucaozy has averaged a 1.20 rating during his two years with Fluxo and has been far and away the team's best player, with a potential move to MIBR ahead of the RMR offering the team a substantial boon in firepower.

MIBR are currently competing at ESL Pro League Season 20, where they started their campaign with a win over 9z.

With Lucaozy, MIBR would have:

Brazil Raphael "exit" Lacerda
Brazil Breno "brnz4n" Poletto
Brazil Felipe "insani" Yuji
Brazil Rafael "saffee" Costa
Brazil André "drop" Abreu
Brazil Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves

Brazil Renato "nak" Nakano (coach)

could be in place of brnz4n too (i think its more likely), his form really went down this year, strangely, after he started doing more "easy" roles. exit is more of a lurker/support, even in his Sharks time, he was pretty passive. Brnz4n and lucaozy are much more agressive players, and rolewise, lucaozy fits more in what Breno is doing now.

Yeah I think brnz4n is getting kicked, and honestly MiBR could aim for top15 with this change, they have some really strong synergy now and I like how drop and saffee reinvented themselves and seem to do better now after Furia fiascos

Couldn't they have waited until Pro League was over... Anyway ever since drop assumed the IGL role I was calling it was a matter of time before exit got replaced with an actual solid rifler. I still think it would be better to bring dumau and latto and replace brnz4n as well but maybe just -exit +lucaozy is enough and it makes sense considering he will probably go for cheap.

Also please Legacy bring Art on, don't let one of the best IGLs of the region rot in this failed project and I think anyone on their right mind would agree that Art > NEKIZ in pretty much every aspect, making it an upgrade for the team

Idk man, I like Art but he had his chance for long and haven't achieved anything substantial. I think he need to rediscover and reevaluate himself. I believe Fluxo is rebuilding the team. They got 2 academy players, now Lucaozy leaving etc. Maybe they are doing something more long term and Art is a good piece who brings all the experience for new players.

The point is that Art chose to go to Fluxo. He said on his stream he had a few invites from T2 European team but if I am not mistaken none of those were to keep igling role. At that time, he should have gone to Europe.

Yes 4th for 2 weeks, playing online, 4 years ago. He couldn't keep up good results wis KS and Yurih, no titles and always the same excuses. A boring game style to watch and easy to be read by the opponent. I am not criticizing him, nothing wrong about giving a step back to give two forward.

lucaozy is probably replacing brnz4n who is underperforming lately, lucaozy doesnt play the same roles as exit lul

Probably BRNZ4N, he is not performing in 2024. exit performs better, is a clutcher and can help with tatic aspects.

That's actually some very interesting news. Lucaozy is the best BR player still stuck in SA, MIBR can be a solid contender for the best brazilian team now. Hoping that brnz4n is the one getting kicked as he's been quite underhwelming for a while. On the other hand, arT getting fucked now being stuck on a dead roster.

This is a very good move for Lucazãozy. He can finally start getting his name known, play for a team that has CS fans and that actually can get spots for international events.

Br players in some of the main br teams seems to grow an identity with the team and friendship with the other guys. But I guess now he is done waiting for the team to succeed. I always thought Fluxo was a doomed team, but they managed to become worse with time and now even failed to make it to the RMR Americas wich is a terrible signal. That, while seeing paiN, Furia, MIBR and Imperial beeing better teams in br and competing and getting invited to bigger tournaments. Even Legacy would be better than staying in Fluxo.

That's actually really interesting, Lucaozy is a really good player, but role wise and spot wise he seems to share the most with insani, and surely there is no way insani is the guy they replace, he has also been really good. My bet is they're either benching brnz4n who had some issues with consistency lately, or drop and exit is moving back to IGLing. Either way it will create some spots conflicts. Will be very interesting how will this deal end up.
