The star's transfer to Falcons for three months has been confirmed.

s1mple will play for Falcons for three months

Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev will go on loan to Falcons from Natus Vincere, both teams have confirmed, with the Saudi organization adding that it will be for three months.

The 26-year-old takes Álvaro "⁠SunPayus⁠" García's place on the starting five. The Spanish AWPer had been Falcons' highest-rated player, averaging a 1.13 during his nine months on the team.

Falcons have been struggling ever since they came together. The team reached the IEM Katowice semi-finals early in the year but have since dropped out of the top 10 and haven't shown tangible improvements, crashing out of most events attended in the group stage.

Coach Danny "⁠zonic⁠" Sørensen talked about the need to make changes after the team's elimination from BLAST Premier Fall Final, and now it is here. s1mple's transfer had been in the making since at least before September 22, when the Major rosters were locked, as s1mple is signed on as a substitute and will play the upcoming RMR.

s1mple, a three-time HLTV Player of the Year and two-time runner up, has been out of the servers for a year and only has one series to his name in Counter-Strike 2, also with Falcons, in a best-of-three defeat to Metizport at the BLAST Spring Showdown.

No it's loan not transfer so it depends. Contract may include a provision that in the case of a match against NAVI they must use a stand-in, as is the case for example in football which is unlikely but still possible.

In football these contracts are illegal. Teams are free to use the loaned player at will. What happens is that there's a form of understatement or gentlemen's agreement of not making the player face his former team. In CS it's hard to believe they would agree to play with a stand-in just for one game. It's not like football where you can easily replace a player and keep the same structure and collective work

It's nearly impossible to make an impact when, 10 seconds into the round, everyone is either dead or they've suicided. At that point, you might get 2-3 kills, but you're left alone, and those kills don’t really matter because they won’t win you the round. How are you supposed to make an impact in those conditions, consistently? And still, sometimes it happens. Or what about when they make the entry with 1 or 2 kills, but the team throws the round anyway? Don’t you count that as impact either?

On one hand I'm just happy to see s1mple play again, it's been too long! On the other hand, acquiring him on a 3 month loan seems really stupid to me. If the rumours are true, that NiKo is joining Falcons after the new year, then there is the potential for an insane lineup. I absolutely thought dupreeh would be the first to go , especially since s1mple was positive to rifling. Might not make sense role wise to have s1mple be aggro but I think they could make it work. Maden would probably be next but sunpayus? He’s the one carrying if anything and 1.13 for someone in falcons isn’t bad at all. Hes for sure going to have oppurtunities afterwards which is good whether its in heroic or another team.
