The EVPs and Best Five of BLAST Fall Final 2024
malbsMd earns his first ever EVP as m0NESY and ZywOo pick up speed in the race for No. 1.

G2 have looked good since signing Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa, getting exactly what they needed in the form of a significant firepower boost.
That has now resulted in them breaking their glass ceiling and defeating Natus Vincere for the first time in ten attempts for a Big Event title.

Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov was particularly electric, and is still in the hunt for the Player of the Year title amidst tough competition from Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut and Danil "donk" Kryshkovets.
His second MVP of 2024 came from a superbly consistent showing and a strong final where he won six clutches in four maps.

ZywOo only played three series but put up elite numbers and takes the top EVP. He was particularly good in round wins (1.24 KPRW) and only really fell short in one map, Dust2 against G2 in the semi-final.
It's his fourth EVP of the year and he now has six awards in his last seven events (only missing out at EWC).
The Frenchman is renowned for his uptick in the second half of the year and it's the same this time. m0NESY may have gained ground with the MVP, but ZywOo remains in his rear mirrors.

Nikola "NiKo" Kovač was not always statistically dominant but he was on the eye test with big multi-kills in swing rounds and his masterful execution of taking map control to force rotations.
But he was also strong numbers wise, having an amazing semi-final (desk slam et al) and starting well in the first two maps of the grand final to briefly enter the MVP race.

Helvijs "broky" Saukants hasn't won an EVP since the first EPL season of the year in May, but bounced back in style at Fall Final with his highest-ever rating (1.32) in a Big Event.
The Latvian is a tricky player to analyse, with a peek-happy and shotgun-AWPing style that lends itself to inconsistency at times. When he is on song, however, FaZe look as frightening as they did at the start of the year.
His 29-14 K-D in a map one win over Natus Vincere on Inferno was a reminder of his ability to take down even the very best team in the world single-handedly.

malbsMd came close to an EVP at EWC and EPL Season 20 but the wait for his first award ends now after firing G2 to the trophy.
He averaged a 1.25 rating in G2's map wins (1.29 in playoffs) and consistently over-performed expectations in his tough positions.
The Guatemalan rifler spoke of being "bored" in his anchor roles, but is improving at them and has such talent that he can turn any round on its head no matter the situation.
It was just his second time in an arena, too; this looks to be the first EVP of many.

Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov's stable and passive AWPing is usually the foundation for Natus Vincere's system and riflers to take over games, but in Denmark it was his turn to lead the pack with a 1.40 rating before the final.
His 0.87 rating in the final represented a stark snap back to reality, but the 19-year-old was the frontrunner for the MVP for a reason.
He went 25-11 against G2 (where he outduelled m0NESY 10-3 over the series) in groups but the real highlight was a 21-13 showing against FaZe that featured a stunning 1v2.

Shahar "flameZ" Shushan is the final player but, peculiarly, there was not a huge gap between himself and ZywOo at the top of the article; this is still a strong EVP.
He hit a 1.35 rating. 1.59 impact and 118.5 damage per round win — MVP figures in isolation.
It came undone in a poor 16-23 decider against G2 in semis, and Vitality faced fairly poor oppositon compared to w0nderful, for example, but flameZ has added a fourth EVP of the year and is set to make the top 20 for the first time.
Best Five

Thanks to G2 and Vitality using malbsMd and flameZ in roles far from their comfort zones, we have assembled one of the most aggressive Best Fives ever.
Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski takes the IGL mantle after G2 topped T-side RW% leaderboards en route to the trophy.
Honorable mentions
NAVI only had one EVP in the end, with pistol-specialist Mihai "iM" Ivan (2.06 rating in 11 maps) and Justinas "jL" Lekavicius closest, after having four players share credit for their run to the final.
Lotan "Spinx" Giladi, for the second event in a row, also misses out after falling behind flameZ and ZywOo in terms of consistency and on stage.
donk, as ever, was immense in round wins (122.7 ADRW) but had a patchy event overall and, after struggling versus G2 on stage, has dropped to a 1.04 rating against top-five opposition in the last three months.
Keith "NAF" Markovic was great against Spirit and in the first map against Vitality, but like his team fell out of contention later on.
MVPs and multiple EVP winners

m0NESY and ZywOo gaining ground on donk is the headline and, with Spirit set to miss IEM Rio, mid-season favorite donk has his work cut out for him at BLAST World Final and the all-important Shanghai Major if he is to earn No. 1 in his rookie year.
