G2's CEO seemingly confirmed NiKo's impending departure and spoke about the organization's plans for the roster moving forward.

NiKo is expected to move to Falcons after Perfect World Shanghai Major

Alban Dechelotte, G2's CEO, has spoken on Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač's rumoured upcoming move to Falcons, seemingly confirming the move and giving some insight into G2's future plans for the roster beyond the Bosnian's transfer. He made the comments in an interview with MGG France.

The interview was wide-ranging, touching on many aspects to do with the G2 organization as a whole, but portions touched on G2's CS team specifically.

Dechelotte stated that while G2 have the option to keep NiKo, their recent recent signing of Mario "⁠malbsMd⁠" Samayoa was made with future-proofing in mind. "Because he has several years left on his contract, we could have done so," he said of the possibility of keeping NiKo with the team. "If we did, it's because we consider that this is a moment, perhaps an amount, perhaps a phase for this roster, where it's the right decision.

Maybe we're already working on who will replace malbs in his anchor position, and he could move into the positions that NiKo will be leaving

Dechelotte also, according to a translation by French insider neL, commented on the future of Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov, emphasising that the Russian is currently part of G2's roster plans. It is widely known that m0NESY specifically values playing with NiKo, and there has been speculation suggesting that the AWPer may depart G2 alongside NiKo.

I think Niko is going because deadweights are staying. G2 has to keep the core so they won't be able to replace deadweights even if they wanted to, which means rebuild will last too long for monesy to stay.
