Liquid and FURIA suffer shock losses in Americas RMR openers
The two highest-ranked teams fall to the 0-1 pool after disastrous starts to their Major-qualifying campaigns.

Wildcard and Legacy have kicked off the Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR with huge upset wins over Liquid and FURIA, respectively, dropping two of the biggest favorites to the 0-1 pool.
Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken's side had a disastrous second half on Inferno, squandering a 9-3 lead to some excellent calls from Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and multi-fragging from Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek and Josh "JBa" Barutt. Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis and Justin "jks" Savage started the map strong, but the Latvian disappeared when it mattered most, going 0-7 in a streak of rounds as Wildcard closed the gap.
Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak's heroics couldn't make up for YEKINDAR's repeated deaths in Banana or Twistzz's individual struggles, with Wildcard showing tenacity to go up 1-0 in the Swiss group.
FURIA also dropped the ball in their domestic brawl against Legacy, some sloppy play from both sides ultimately ending in victory for Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato's men after they finally closed out Inferno in overtime.
Felipe "skullz" Medeiros had a particularly disastrous map, ending with a 14-28 K-D, while Bruno "latto" Rebelatto, Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer, and Guilherme "saadzin" Pacheco powered their side to victory with 88 kills between them.
