Wildcard secure Shanghai Major spot over 9z

stanislaw's troops completed a flawless RMR run by taking another top-30 scalp.

Wildcard are the first team to qualify for the Perfect World Shanghai Major from the Americas RMR after taking down 9z in a two-map series in the 2-0 pool.

It was an impressive run from Peter "⁠stanislaw⁠" Jarguz's troops, who had taken down No.13 Liquid and No.16 paiN in Bo1 games before today's series against the No.25-ranked 9z. Wildcard were made to work hard on Nuke, 9z's map pick, before coasting on Inferno, a map they controlled from the start.

"We're just clicking," stanislaw told James "⁠BanKs⁠" Banks after the match. "We have good synergy. All the roles make sense. Everyone is working really hard. Obviously, our coach preps us really well.

"I don't think there's one bad thing about our team right now."

A 5-7 half on the CT side left Wildcard with a mountain to climb at half-time on Nuke. Things went from bad to worse for them after a slow start to their T side, but they somehow managed to come back from 5-11 down to win the game in overtime.

Inferno was a much more one-sided affair, with Wildcard racing out to a 6-1 lead on the CT side. 9z fought back and kept the scoreline competitive before half-time, but Wildcard ran amok on the offense and picked the Latin Americas' defense apart.
