The Ukrainian underdogs are now just a single best-of-three away from the Elimination Stage.

Passion UA are now on the cusp of reaching the Elimination Stage in Shanghai after scoring a statement victory over MIBR, bagging a ten-round streak against the Brazilian side after a close start to their Mirage best-of-one.

With this win, Passion UA have secured themselves a 2-1 record in the Opening Stage, giving them two opportunities to win out a best-of-three to move on to the Elimination Stage.

After finding themselves at a 3-5 deficit on the T-side of Mirage, Passion UA pieced together an impressive run fueled by flashes of brilliance from Rodion "⁠fear⁠" Smyk and Nikita "⁠jackasmo⁠" Skyba, quelling the equally impressive showings that Felipe "⁠insani⁠" Yuji and Rafael "⁠saffee⁠" Costa were displaying for MIBR.

In the end, the Brazilians were unable to put the brakes on Passion UA's run even after swapping sides, giving fear's troops room to run away with the map 13-5.

While Jon "⁠JDC⁠" de Castro and Karim "⁠Krimbo⁠" Moussa were important components to the German side's comeback, Rigon "⁠rigoN⁠" Gashi's turnaround from 2-16 to 11-18 was also crucial, as the Swiss rifler scored three consecutive multi-kills to help get his team over the line.

We are still talking about team that has average age of 19.8, a team that had not played any lan maches before the majors, a team that had not played in front of a audience before the opening stage.. Many were sure that they would go 0-3 during rmr, and 2-3 after the first day.. They 100% are the dark horse here.

The point is that pua didn't have ANY lan, or stadium experience before this major? This is literally the beginning of their career, they jumped from B and D tier online tournaments, straight to S tier major, and not only made it to opening stage, but they really can make it even further. Young is good and the players are often past their prime after 27 or something, with this I agree but it wasn't my point, the point was that pua made it this far without ANY experience in A or S tier tournaments, and because of this in my eyes they are the derk horse. Also nothing personal but your argument skills suck

Every major there are teams like Passion UA and they go further and further while people like you keep referring to the lack of experience Keep referring, what can I say and they will just keep proving you wrong

lol what I want to pua and teams like gl to go far? It's still true that these teams have no experience when it comes to A and S tier tournaments? This is from pua coach Kane, interview after they dropped out, but I guess you are more of an expert on the experience topic than a major winning coach: "First of all, we're a very young team, players in this team, it's their first team, they only played for one year and two months on the professional scene. We need more experience. Yesterday we had a close match against GamerLegion and we made many stupid mistakes. When you have experience, you don't do it. I think it's just time and more training."
