dav1deuS is among the options as a replacement, according to Dust2.com.br.

paiN are apparently in the market to replace lux

Lucas "⁠lux⁠" Meneghini is "not in paiN's plans for 2025," according to a report from Dust2.com.br.

One possible replacement, the publication says, could be David "⁠dav1deuS⁠" Tapia Maldonado, who currently sits on RED Canids' bench.

lux was paiN's best player over 2024 online with a 1.17 rating, but he dropped off to a 1.03 on LAN, and found it difficult to make his usual aggressive plays work against top opposition.

Rodrigo "⁠biguzera⁠" Bittencourt's squad had a strong 2024, nearly making playoffs at IEM Cologne and making both Majors, but seem to have turned to the market in an attempt to solidify their charge at Brazil's top spot.

The world is paiN's oyster when it comes to possible replacements, since they have the option of moving youngster João "⁠snow⁠" Vinicius into lux's aggressive positions (those he used to occupy in Case), or of buying a ready-made opener such as dav1deuS.

Currently ranked in 14th place on the Valve Global Standings, paiN are eligible to receive invitations to BLAST Bounty and IEM Katowice at the start of 2025.

According to the report, they will be left as:

Surely Lux is already lined up to join Red Canids or smth, and PaiN are just getting someone better so they went for it, kinda like when Vita upgraded Dupreeh to FlameZ, although of course the caliber of players isn't quite the same... yet ;) GLHF Edit: And imo he would improve almost every BR team except maybe Furia because he is very impactful and well-rounded!

Not in general...but I never liked kauez simply because he gets a very important role on T side and keeps underperforming due to bad mechanics. He has been overperforming on the last weeks so...I don't know, I just would not have changed anything

I did not mean you in general, you might have your reasons. I absolutely agree with you that I would not have changed a thing with this lineup. My comment was just based on something I have seen for the longest time in your community, that br fans tend to give support players crap often since they tend to have the worse stats. Integral role players like taco for example recieved so much crap from the br community for his time in lg/sk. I might be wrong but I feel like some of you guys watch stats as a end all be all type of thing.

Huh. This is a bit strange. Reminds me of what broke SK/MIBR, which in FalleN's own words was a lack of patience to wait for a strong core to truly consolidate. This major proved that PaiN can bring a very honest fight to Furia, so hopefully too many changes don't break things instead of fixing.
