The North American rifler is close to fulfilling his goal to play on a European team.

Complexity star Jonathan "⁠EliGE⁠" Jablonowski is locked in talks with FaZe, multiple sources told HLTV and independent reporter Guillaume 'neL' Rathier. The North American ace has been earmarked as Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool's replacement as the Estonian is on the brink of joining Vitality.

EliGE's future has been one of the hot topics in this off-season after he told HLTV while at the Shanghai Major that he was going to do "whatever it takes to make sure" he is in a position to win titles in 2025 after a disappointing year with Complexity.

In a subsequent interview with HLTV for his Top 20 Player of the Year article, EliGE all but announced his move to a new region. "I have never played on an EU team with the best players in the world, so it is also something really exciting for me to be able to experience and learn from," he said. "There will be some discomfort being in a new environment, but also a lot of excitement from the potential there."

EliGE's availability caught the attention of many teams. G2 were also mooted as a potential destination for the 27-year-old, but the European giants seem to have given up hope of signing the player and turned their attention to Cloud9 star Nikita "⁠HeavyGod⁠" Martynenko.

EliGE's arrival could provide a much-needed jolt to FaZe, who lifted only one trophy in 2024, at IEM Chengdu. The North American star remains at the height of his powers, averaging a 1.17 rating on LAN in 2024 despite Complexity struggling to make deep runs.

Earlier this month, Complexity CEO made it clear that the organization would not stand in EliGE's way if a top team came knocking. "We're certainly not a prison here," he said on The Four Horsemen show. "If Jon can find an organization that, right now, can battle for top three consistently we'll try our best to make it happen for him and take whatever buyout we can get for him."

A major that they stumbled into without really deserving to be there till their playoff performances picked up. For 90% of the season they were flat with role clashes between rain and frozen. That problem will still exist even with Elige there.

Hating with 0 reasons, faze is without a doubt a top 3 team of the year (I imagine Navi and Spirit are included for major wins). Alright, they always got 2nd place but that almost doesn't matter when everyone else choked in quarters or semis faze still reached the finals. i don't think they can win team of the team only because they lack the trophies to show for it but even then its close. +bald buff +aggro rilfer +frozen lurking more +trophies

Self-awareness is a good trait to have. I one million per cent believe Faze is the best team for elige even if he could pick between faze g2 vitality etc etc. flair ofc but genuinely for his career its the best move IMO.

I keep reminding people that Frozen isn't that guy. he is a lot more passive than Faze needs him to be hence why he took Ropz's roles after Ropz left Mouz. Elige in as the main rifler and frozen moving to lurking (albeit more aggressive than Ropz) should be a very smooth transition.

Against top 20 he's 7th behind the same +NiKo +XANTARES. Against top 10 on LAN he's 6th behind those -XANTARES. Those names are excellent company and none of them play for FaZe. Get him in FaZe and see what company he keeps against top 5. The issue at the time was EliGE's form wasn't that great. I think he had to show he was still a great player. EU teams probably saw him as a risk even though it was clear there were problems with his role in Liquid.

Well according to some sources faze did offer ropz an extension but he walked away, so he really did not want to continue playing with clashing roles.. That said frozen used to play anchor and luck roles back in mous, so it's gonna be a simple switch where frozen takes up ropz roles and elige gets frozen's roles
