The European organization will enter 2025 with a completely new roster.

SunPayus will be HEROIC's new AWPer

HEROIC have completed the signing of Falcons AWPer Álvaro "⁠SunPayus⁠" García and Metizport star Linus "⁠nilo⁠" Bergman, according to a report from Sheep Esports. The pair will join the Sangal trio of Linus "⁠LNZ⁠" Holtäng, Yasin "⁠xfl0ud⁠" Koç and Simon "⁠yxngstxr⁠" Boije, who HLTV reported on January 2 were on the brink of moving to HEROIC.

SunPayus returns to action after spending the last four months on Falcons' bench following the Saudi organization's loan signing of Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev for the final stretch of the season.

The sixth-best player of 2023, the Spaniard went through peaks and troughs in form but was still one of the best-performing players for a team that struggled for firepower in 2024.

nilo is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Europe. A product of Ninjas in Pyjamas's academy system, he has averaged a 1.21 rating for Metizport, who spent a month inside the top 30 in the rankings between March and April 2024.

These changes will fill the voids created by Guy "⁠NertZ⁠" Iluz's transfer to Liquid and the triple sale of René "⁠TeSeS⁠" Madsen, Abdul "⁠degster⁠" Gasanov and Damjan "⁠kyxsan⁠" Stoilkovski to Falcons.

Rasmus "⁠sjuush⁠" Beck, the last remaining member of HEROIC's 2024 lineup, is reportedly on Ninjas in Pyjamas' shortlist.

Most orgs aren’t profitable for other reasons like not winning. Usually operating an esports team is a net loss regardless if you aren’t winning championships or finishing as a runner up consistently like faze simply on the basis of attracting sponsorships. Buying, retaining players, & taking gambles is technically the only way proven to eventually operate outside of a financial deficit so that’s why you saw Niko making 30k a month for an example. This is how the ouroboros that is the esports ecosystem works. I do think Heroic is really smart with their money though given how good their teams are because of who they talent scout and that is probably thanks to sAw & their analyst.

Ask MOUZ and ENCE what's their opinion. ENCE made "nonamers" like dycha, Snappi, SunPayus, maden, Spinx, NertZ and hades to actually good players and then sold them forward. I wouldn't be even surprised if current roster would be top10 when this season ends. orgs with bigger budget might b einterested from Neityu, podi and xkacpersky by end of the year, if they continue to develop. Next player that might be promoted from academy is teme or myltsi. podi said that teme has insanely high potential if he continues to develop like he did this year.

Most of them were great players before they were bought. MOUZ and ENCE buys players that are mostly unproven talents or players that shown some potential in tier2+ circuit. Of course Heroic makes more money by selling solid tier 1 players.

tier 2 players. SunPayus had one good run in Cologne and one ESL Challenger win that's all. maden played in FPX and they hovered around top20. Snappi 15 years and 0 tier 1 trophies before ENCE and played in Astralis for a while as stand-in. So imho they weren't proven tier 1 players before ENCE. Yes people knew them, but they were seen as "decent" players.

I believe in nilo, his shot at t1 is long overdue and was only stopped by the state of Swedish scene. Nilo barely had any chances to play if you compare him to heroic nicoodoz (multiple major appearances, playing for fnatic), he defeated s1mple and took a map off spirit and that's about it. This is his best chance yet to prove himself and I firmly believe he's good enough to be better than lnz and xfl0ud Edit: also I forgot to mention sAw, you couldn't have asked for a better guy to develop a young t2 player with great potential, maybe except for b1ad3. Under sAw spinx, nertz, sunpayus and teses (not really a young inexperienced player, but he's been at his best ever since heroic went international) showed great improvement, even dycha and hades were fragging out with him as a coach
