Official: Vitality unveil ropz

ropz begins a new journey after three years in FaZe.

Vitality have officially announced the addition of Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool, filling spot left open by moving Lotan "⁠Spinx⁠" Giladi to the inactive roster. The signing confirms an earlier report by HLTV.

For the first time in three years, ropz will not be donning a FaZe jersey when he steps onto the server. The Estonian enjoyed a fruitful period with FaZe, winning PGL Major Antwerp, seven further significant LAN trophies, and being named on HLTV's top 20 players list three times, peaking at third.

2024 was not as successful a time for FaZe as ropz had previously enjoyed, as they bagged second at PGL Major Copenhagen and won IEM Chengdu early in the year before dropping significantly in form. The European combine picked things up towards the end of the year and secured back-to-back Major grand finals appearances, with ropz a significant factor in powering their Perfect World Shanghai Major campaign.

He joins a Vitality team that dominated 2023, but were unable to extend that domination. Having claimed five trophies, including a Major, the previous year, Vitality struggled to hit the same heights in 2024, heading into the summer player break without a trophy to their name.

Vitality did manage to claim the IEM Cologne trophy to ensure 2024 was not entirely barren, but that was their last grand final appearance of the year, and they ended their season with a disappointing exit in the first round of the playoffs at Perfect World Shanghai Major, at the hands of none other than ropz and FaZe.
