1WIN add SANJI as coach

The former Virtus.pro rifler turned his hand to coaching in 2023.

1win have announced the addition of Sanjar "⁠SANJI⁠" Kuliev as their coach as well as 19-year-old Oleg "⁠sh1geo⁠" Stasenko as their captain, bringing the duo in from Enjoy.

The announcement also mentioned that another Enjoy member, Stepan "⁠klain⁠" Mukhin, would be standing in for Vladislav "⁠lattykk⁠" Vydrin in upcoming matches for 1win.

1win revamped their roster late last year, ditching the likes of Timur "⁠buster⁠" Tulepov and Sanzhar "⁠neaLaN⁠" Iskhakov in favour of bringing in youngsters Alexandr "⁠oz1k⁠" Sevastyanov and Kirill "⁠cronuss⁠" Savin. The team also parted ways with coach Aset "⁠Solaar⁠" Sembiyev at this time.

Positive results were not forthcoming for the new roster — 1win had to settle for 17-24th in ESEA Advanced Season 51 at the close of 2024 — so Rassim "⁠Jyo⁠" Valijev was soon also dropped from the team.

SANJI arrives in the head coach slot more known for his tenure alongside Dzhami "⁠Jame⁠" Ali in AVANGAR and Virtus.pro as a player, during which time he won BLAST Pro Series Moscow 2019 and Flashpoint 2. The 27-year-old turned his attention to coaching after departing Virtus.pro in 2023, and he has coached MelBet and Enjoy over the last year.

19-year-old sh1geo got his start in 2023 playing for Aurora Young Blud, with whom he averaged a 0.87 rating in lower tier European online competition. He spent the last few months with Enjoy without playing a HLTV-recorded official.

This is lowkey a smart and dumb move at the same time.. :D He might be a coach who has a "sacrificial" thought process, so if he has the fitting pieces, he could have a very decent team whos focus is winning only. If the pieces aren't fitting tho, he might not have a loud enough voice, his strats might be useless due to some teammates being selfish or whatever. But also at his age, he could have been an amazing support player himself, he was decent enough.
