ESL Pro League Season 21 Stage 1cej0t drops 37 kills in regulation as SAW progress to EPL Stage 2
AZUWU and cej0t hard-carried a map each to secure progression to ESL Pro League Stage 2.
SAW's two latest signings produced spectacular performances to secure a spot in the next stage of ESL Pro League for SAW, guiding their team to a 2-1 victory over M80.
Oscar "AZUWU" Bell was the star of the show on Inferno, bagging a 2.08 rating off the back of a marauding T-side performance to ensure smooth sailing for SAW on the first map.
M80 recovered on Ancient, in no small part thanks to a stellar Michael "Swisher" Schmid ace that took control of the map mid-way through the second half.
The best individual showing of the series was saved for last, with Jan "cej0t" Dyl dropping 37 kills across 23 rounds to clinch the series and progression to the next stage of ESL Pro League.
SAW's new-look side exceeds expectations
SAW could not have asked for a better debut with a new lineup, not only because they secured a 3-0 record to qualify for the next stage of ESL Pro Leauge, but also because cej0t and AZUWU proved their worth emphatically.
AZUWU dominated the T side of Inferno, leading to an easy 1-0 lead in the series for his side, before cej0t went nuclear on both sides of Dust2 to make the difference in a hard-fought decider.
The magnitude of cej0t's Dust2 performance is worth highlighting. The Pole ended the map with a 2.22 rating, 137.5 ADR and 37 kills, his frag total putting him only one short of Danil "donk" Kryshkovets's LAN kill record.
Whilst SAW have not necessarily faced the stiffest competition as this stage, two of the three sides they faced are inside the top 20 of the HLTV world ranking, making for a solid resume at this early stage of the roster's life.
