BLAST Open Lisbon groups and opening matchups updated

BLAST has announced changes to the details of Open Lisbon, which mostly affect Group B.

Spirit and Vitality are set to play in the same group

BLAST has revealed an update to the groups and opening matchups for BLAST Open Lisbon, which is set to go down March 19-30. The update comes in the wake of ATOX's replacement by The Huns following the former's provisional ESIC suspension.

ATOX disqualified from BLAST Lisbon and PGL Bucharest qualifier over "provisional suspension from ESIC"

The changes come due to The Huns taking the bottom seed, whereas ATOX were originally seeded 14th, bumping Imperial and M80 up a spot each.

Imperial have moved into Group B, whilst The Huns will take up a spot in Group A. As a result, several opening matches have changed in Group B, whilst The Huns will simply take on Spirit in place of Imperial in Group A.

BLAST are using the invite ranking from February so Navi are actually seeded 6th overall. If you look at the seeded team list, near the bottom you will see the following seeding: Falcons - 9th Liquid - 10th - Furia - 11th Virtus.pro - 12th - Astralis - 13th M80 - 14th What you would probably consider to be the stronger of each of those pairings got seeded into group A.

i mean why mouz gets falcons, vitality vs astralis and spirit is against this top 60 team

Spirit are the 1st seed and get the easiest match as a result. Astralis on the other hand are the 13th seed. That's because they were ranked much lower in the February VRS than they are now, and that is the ranking BLAST are using for the seeding.
