Abdul "⁠degster⁠" Gasanov has been named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of PGL Bucharest by HLTV and 1XBET after he helped drive Falcons to their first-ever trophy lift with a resurgent showing in the latter half of the event.

The Russian sniper arrived in Romania knowing this would be his last tournament with Falcons, who were linked with the blockbuster signing of Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov in a move that was thought to be completed after Bucharest.

degster got off to a disastrous start, averaging a 0.64 rating across his first five maps as Falcons went down 0-2 in the group stage, but showed exceptional mental fortitude and became a key component in their recovery and in the playoffs.

He averaged a 1.27 rating in the 12 maps Falcons played from the fifth round of the Swiss stage onward, including key 1.87, 1.62, and 1.79-rated maps against The MongolZ, FaZe, and G2, respectively, and ended the event with a 1.35 rating vs. top 10 teams.

degster was Falcons' highest-rated player in the playoffs (1.21 rating) and heads home from Romania with a medal in hand for a Cinderella-story ending to his Falcons journey.
