IEM Melbourne 2025paiN and BIG sent packing from IEM Melbourne
Complexity and 3DMAX are off to solid starts in the Group A lower bracket.
paiN and BIG have emerged as the first casualties of IEM Melbourne, falling out in 13-16th place at the hands of Complexity and 3DMAX, respectively.
Complexity will now be shifting their sights to their next opponents, GamerLegion, while 3DMAX likewise prepare for their elimination match against FaZe.

paiN will have little to write home about regarding their time Down Under, as the Brazilian side was forced to play the event with two stand-ins, Iago "deemO" Henrique and coach Henrique "rikz" Waku due to health issues from captain Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt.
paiN mustered just two rounds on their opponent's pick of Train in their final series in Melbourne, both stemming from Lucas "nqz" Soares multikills.
Anubis offered a more competitive first half, as paiN managed to keep Complexity at just seven rounds on the offense, but the Americans' defense stifled paiN to send them packing with a 6-13 loss on their own pick.

BIG's IEM Melbourne outing comes just a week after a disappointing campaign in the BLAST.tv Europe MRQ, where the German side missed out on a Major berth after suffering losses to Astralis, Nemiga, and 9 Pandas.
This result adds to an unfortunate tally for BIG, whose best LAN result in 2025 so far is a 9-11th place finish at PGL Cluj-Napoca.
BIG had a difficult start to their series against 3DMAX, suffering a 5-13 loss on their own pick of Ancient as Lucas "Lucky" Chastang displayed astounding form, racking up a 2.43 rating with 27 kills across the 18 rounds played.
BIG fared far better on 3DMAX's pick of Dust2, storming ahead to a 9-3 lead on the defense thanks to solid shots from AWPer Marcel "hyped" Köhn. Unfortunately for the German side, Lucky's reign of terror was not yet complete, as the French rifler helped spearhead a comeback that resulted in a 19-16 win for 3DMAX in double overtime, sending BIG packing from IEM Melbourne.
