BetBoom, HEROIC grab big wins on CCT Global Finals day one
BetBoom put up a 13-0 performance on Wildcard's map pick, whilst HEROIC went 26-11 over two maps against BC.Game.

The first day of play has drawn to a close in CCT Global Finals, with eight teams duking it out online to try and secure the hefty $75,000 top prize. Whilst there are no upsets to report, with the higher-ranked team winning each series, there were still some performances of note that are worth highlighting.
The biggest game of the opening day saw two of the three highest-ranked teams in the competition face off, namely BetBoom and Wildcard.
It was a match to forget for Wildcard as not only did they lose 0-2, they were spanked 0-13 on their own map pick of Dust2. Wildcard's IGL, Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz, finished Dust2 with 0 kills and a 0.02 rating to finish as the worst of a bad bunch, but no one from Wildcard covered themselves in glory.
The top-ranked team in attendance, HEROIC, made quick work of BC.Game to get their campaign off to a winning start.
An immense CT-side performance by Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç put HEROIC in the driver's seat on Train, before Andrey "tN1R" Tatarinovich took over on offense to quickly put BC.Game to bed on their own map pick. Anubis was the Álvaro "SunPayus" García show, as the Spaniard put up nearly 20 frags and over 140 ADR on defense to ensure smooth sailing for his team.
B8 enjoyed the kindest opening draw, playing bottom-ranked squad Partizan, but ended up scraping by 2-1 in a hard-fought series.
Mirage was a tale of two woeful T sides, with B8 putting up a single round to find themselves 1-11 down at the half. Miraculously Partizan struggled even worse on their offense, with B8 shutting the Serbians out to go 1-0 up in the series.
Partizan put up a strong defensive half on their own pick of Inferno to level the series, before B8 then sealed the deal on Dust2, a marauding 135 ADR T-side showing by Dmytro "esenthial" Tsvir enough to secure the victory.
The final match of the day pit Imperial against a recently much-maligned 500 squad, and the Brazilians cruised through the series with ease. Santino "try" Rigal and Kaiky "noway" Santos battered 500's defense on Dust2 to secure a 1-0 series lead, before Lucas "decenty" Bacelar put on a clinic on Inferno to seal the deal.

Play continues tomorrow in CCT Global Finals, which is utilizing a straightforward double-elimination bracket throughout. Day two will feature the following matchups:
