fer says he nearly joined FURIA before rumored s1mple, Perfecto, YEKINDAR lineup was aborted

The veteran Brazilian rifler revealed he had talks with FalleN and sidde before YEKINDAR became available.

FURIA recently went international with the additions of Danil "molodoy" Golubenko and Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis, looking to turn around a downtrodden run of results that has plagued the team for years and persisted even after an overhaul last July when Sid "sidde" Macedo and Felipe "skullz" Medeiros were brought in.

The latter was recently benched to make room for YEKINDAR, who shares a common tongue with the team's AWP prospect molodoy and joins the team as a stand-in. However, two-time Major champion Fernando "fer" Alvarenga stated in a live stream that he was in talks with sidde and Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo to join the lineup before the Latvian became available.

FURIA bench skullz, add YEKINDAR as stand-in *

"They called me and I accepted, only in the end they chose YEKINDAR," fer began. "It was very brief. FalleN called me, explained what was going on, what was going to happen in the team and that he had considered me and the guys were interested.

"He called me to find out if I was interested, otherwise he would create a situation and when they came to talk to me, it wouldn't work. I said that, given what was about to happen, I was interested in joining."

fer said that conversations between them went on for almost two weeks, he was aware molodoy was going to take over AWPing duties from FalleN, and that FURIA could make one more change as the Major rulebook allows a team to list any player who doesn't make it through the qualifier as a substitute.

FalleN on giving up AWPing: "My mission here is to make FURIA a super competitive team in the best way I can"

"We're left with that timeline," the Brazilian rifler continued. "YEKINDAR was going to put together a team with some Russian guys, rumored to be Perfecto, s1mple, but the organization they wanted to put together couldn't be done, to put together the team they wanted.

"I had already talked to sidde, we called, talked on video, and it was almost certain that I was going to join, we set up a meeting to talk to all the players and half an hour before the meeting YEKINDAR sent a message, said that his team wasn't going to make it and that he was available.

"The guys chose to put YEKINDAR in, told me what was going to happen, I said, 'Good luck,' and that was it."

Fer has been bullshitting abt going to Furia since 2024, crazy how there are people in Brazil who are still calling for him to get signed in. Blud dont play professional matches since 2022, he only streams... "But muh huh he played good on Imperial!!!" Yeah, that was almost 3 yrs ago, and he leave because he was tired of bootcamping and the training routine. Don't expect that any top brazilian team will want to call you just because of your story if you gonna leave after 4 months

Well, not exactly. He was Imperial's best player by far on that "last dance" project. The thing is: that was years ago. For him to be able to play good again, he would have to REALLY step up and dedicate himself again, which doesn't seem likely. I would like to see him playing again. Specially between him and YEKINDAR... I'm brazilian, I always loved watching fer play, so I'd rather see him trying again than betting on a player that's been playing bad for a long time lol

Stupid move for both sides YEKINDAR should have waited for his friends to build a team, I mean you can wait for s1mple until his contract expires, I think his stint in FURIA won’t be successful with high chances

yekindar only needs to be the 3rd best rifler on this squad and potentially the 4th best player if molodoy turns out to be a good awper in tier 1. what they need is a good IGL though, I doubt fallen will put up more than a .8 rating with the rifle and igl. I'd even give yekindar a crack at IGL again, find a good rifler and let yekindar be the worst rifler on the team.

Fallen, one of the main responsibles for the development of brazilian CS scene, just for a few years later, he gets to destroy it... Picked up one of the most promissing and enjoyable to watch teams in the world and in less than two years manages to completely buried it, not only competitive wise but also fanbase wise, the Fallen fanboys that hated Furia for being better than his teams still hate it and put the blame on the other players and org for their terrible results with Fallen and the old fans can't put up with all this bs this team has become, so now we have a joke of a team and a splitted community, all because granpa doesn't know when it's time to stop... Now it doesn't matter if he retires after the major the damage is done already

Furia was already falling apart when fallen entered. Idk if you rememeber, but furia was in the same spot in the ranking as it is now: 10-16. Furia's main problem was getting chelo when they actually needed a decent entry. Fallen was at least top 3 americas awper when he was hired.

Furia had 3 months where they were trying some new playstyles in hopes of becoming a tier S team, which didn't really worked, but instead of gambling it all on Fallen, they had the option of going back to their old playstyle (that only 3 months before got them to a semi final of a tier S tournament) and use that money they spent on Fallen to instead replace drop with an actual good player like skullz, but the pressure from Gaules and his community was so big to get Fallen, align with Kscerato and Yuurih wanting to play with the guy they looked up to, that they didn't really have an option. Fallen was not top 3 awper in Americas back them nor he was a better igl than art, this was all a narrative build by Gaules based on nostalgia and friendship, they literally build up the hype on that blast tournament as if it was the best achievment from a brazilian team since LG/SK, when in reality they only won 1 bo3 against the worst team in the tournament (COL) and 1 bo3 against Vitality (on group stage), that was it.

You're delusional if you think fallen was not top 3 awper in americas at that time since he's top 3 americas awper even RN (obviously because it's the role AM lacks the most). Worth to mention that money was not a problem when hiring fallen since he's the most popular esports player in BR and he paid himself, as the owner of furia stated. Fallen also has very similiar stats compared to saffe even while IGLing and having more support roles. Again, furia's problem was the lack of a decent entry. Furia did not have better options, besides getting someone instead of chelo, without going international. And i'd like to finish by saying that all IGLs in brazil that were not biguzera were bad. Even in 22-23 fallen and art had the same IGL capabilities. Both were horrible. Maybe one was a bit better than the other, but not smt worth mentioning.

That's the main problem of Fallen refusing to retire, there are people that will never accept he has been washed for years, no matter how bad he plays or how disappointing are the teams he leads, and even when he is absolutely terrible, for some fucking reason you fanboys assume everyone else sucks as well, just to make an excuse and say Fallen is not the problem, ever since 2018 he hasn't been able to be successful, neither as an awper not as an igl, everyone who watches CS knows and is not blind by idolatry knows that, just look outside of Gaules community and you will see. Even himself admitted he hasn't been able to do well since he left mibr, but even then his fans will blindly defend him with an excuse after another. Everyone knows that if they had spent the money they invested in Fallen to go after a good 5th player like skullz or insani to replace drop, Furia would be much better than they are now, just admit already that signing Fallen was a mistake, what evidences you need more than what actually happened to the team?

When did i state he's not washed? For me to think so, he would need to be doing 0.1 rating above what he does. The fact is: Brazil does not have good awpers, for AMERICAS, fallen is still a very decent awper. It's a fact, PLAIN AND SIMPLE. And, again, you really think ART is a good IGL when he could not make HEN1, KSCERATO AND YUURIH, all three in their primes, work? Honestly, are you really gonna defend that? I'm not saying fallen is a good igl, i'm affirmming both ART AND FALLEN are SHIT for tier S. Signing fallen was not a mistake, you're talking like furia paid 1 million dollars for fallen, and got nothing in return. They got money from fallen's popularity, hiring fallen is not only for performance. They can't pay 1.2 million dollars for insani (they'd pbly need to pay more), because the odds for him returning that investiment is close to 0, even though he would OBVIOUSLY perform better than fallen, and it would OBVIOUSLY be a better move (IF YOU THINK ONLY ABOUT PERFORMANCE, AND NOT TEAM'S SUSTAINTABILITY). Skullz on the other hand would not change much, and was not worth for 700k dollars. He's not a player that would change furia's level. Insani and biguzera, at that time, were the only players that would, but their fines were IMPOSSIBLE TO COVER because, guess what, BRAZILIAN CS does not revolve around furia. Just to finish, art needed to go or at least drastically change his playstyle because furia needed a better entry to step up. Even in the scenario INSANI is hired, Art would either need to completly change his playstyle, or be replaced by another IGL. That's actually the reason I think the team FALLEN INSANI YUURIH KSCERATO SKULLZ would be better than SAFFE INSANI YUURIH KSCERATO ART. Less role clashes, same IGL capability, same awping level as saffe. My ideal team would be smt like BIGUZERA SAFFE INSANI YUURIH KSCERATO though.

> you really think ART is a good IGL when he could not make HEN1, KSCERATO AND YUURIH, all three in their primes, work? They literally dominated Americas during the pandemic, enough that they reached top 3, and after that Hen1 decided to leave. Not to mention he managed to bring a line with Saffee and drop to not only a major semi finals but also many other tier S tournaments semi finals and major playoffs, there is not single drop of doubt which IGL was better leading their teams in tier S tournaments between Fallen and Art since 2019. Also, there is no way you believe -drop +skullz wouldn't make that team significantly better. And why would anyone other than Furia owners give a damn about how much money they got back from Fallen? All that matters to the fans of the team is how they are doing on the server, and the facts are, they went from a solid playoffs team to a international joke in less than 2 years, if those results are not enough to convince you that the move was a mistake nothing will.

You cant compare nowadays americas with the americas of that time. We are much more solid as a region, that's OBVIOUS. The fact is, art with that line won 3 championship as good as elisa masters. Can't you see the one with a bias towards a player is you, and not me? Why are you shit talking on saffe? In biguzera's hands, that guy was a fucking beast and obviously better than fallen as an awper. But, if we compare furia's fallen with furia's saffe, they are almost the same shit. Who we can blame for that besides art? honestly. Worth to mention furia was being an international joke at least 1.5 years before signing fallen, IEM RIO semi finals are very close to RIO MAJOR semi finals if we think only about COMPETITIVITY LEVEL (obviously major is a more important event) and skullz would be a upgrade from drop, but not a game changer, as he would need to be for being worth 700k TRUMPS. To finish, paying 1.2 million for fallen, is like paying 200k for another player. That's the analogy that might help you understand my point. But, in the end of the day, I agree with you. As a fan I'd rather they had paid 3 million dollars to get both insani and biguzera, but in this scenario furia's odd's for non existence nowadays would be very high.

I'm tired of repeating myself so I'm just gonna drop the numbers. Let's compare the time between the end of online era and when Furia got Fallen (which you put as an international joke), with the time Furia had Fallen as the IGL, until now: Art IGL after pandemic, without Hen1 (about 2 years): 3 majors playoffs being one of them a semis (3 out of 4 participated in) 2 other tier S semis (Pro League and IEM Dallas) 1 top 6 in IEM Rio 1 top 8 in Cologne 1 tier 1 tournament win (Elisa with 3 top 10 teams) Fallen IGL on Furia (About 1 and a half year): 1 semis on tier S tournament (IEM Rio) 1 top 8 tier S tournament (Esports World Cup) 0 majors playoffs of the 2 participated in Basically in major playoffs: 3 x 0 In tier S semis: 3x1 In tier S top 8 in total: 7x2 In (tier 1) titles: 1x0 If not even that open your eyes, I'm just gonna stop wasting my time

Mate, you lost. I'm not gonna keep arguing. Fallen has more tier S titles than art when he did not have 3 TOP 20 PLAYERS IN HIS TEAM. The guy also managed to win NOTHING with 2022 yuurih and kscerato. Honestly. Stop dick riding this guy. His IGLing i as good as fallen at maximum. Worth to mention you're comparing 2022's yuurih and kscerato (best kscerato there has ever been, top 8) with nowadays yuurih and kscerato, and still fallen is one title ahead of art. That's a freaking fact, and no, elisa was not under art's igling, it was under fallen's igling.

And sure dude, Fallen is the supreme god of CS, so it's much easier to assume Kscerato and Yuurih forgot how to play the game once Fallen assumed the IGL position and that's why Furia had much worse results You are just embarassing yourself at this point

I'm 99% sure this is just another fic that FER created to gain an audience. Just go to YouTube and search for "fer furia"... you'll find several videos of him criticizing the entire team. And, if that really happened, it would probably last until the Austin Major... FER is now like fnx... he only cares about the parties.

I'm not saying that YEKINDAR is a top-end talent, particularly based on his time with Liquid, but holy hell the level of nepotism you'd have to employ to pull in someone like fer is absolutely crazy. Nothing against the guy, but righting the ship doesn't involve hiring a guy years past his prime (and that's saying something when you consider they picked up YEKINDAR).

brazilians have some crazy nostalgia with the old SK/LG players, holy shit, this dude is 33 yo and have never played a official cs2 match in his life, not even played in a english speaking environment, after his mibr/sk/lg days he didnt accomplish anything and was in the bottom position of every single tier s tournament he played but some brazilians are like "he would destroy in tier S nowadays and is better than whatever player furia wants if its up to the brazilians fans furia would become a retirement home and die in two tournaments

What world are you living in? fer was nowhere near a 1.15 vs "top competition." If you just put his filter on "2022" and walk away it looks great, but those stats were against only the garbage teams.

hltv.org/stats/players/events/8564/fer?s.. Solid sample size of tier 1 events oh wait. He had one good showing against actual competition and was otherwise irrelevant. "B-but he'd wreck tier 1 CS!" Sure he would.

6 maps 7 maps 11 maps (that one changed from your first reply). You didn't even understand what I was talking about. Cologne PLAY-IN 0.96 Rio Major Challenger stage 0.99 IEM Dallas 0.90 Pull your bullshit single event stats back out, you'll never get past how awful he was in reasonable events. But hey, 1 out of 4 is 1.15 against good teams right? Could you be any more upset about facts???

Look at who he played "clown." He had one good event in 2022. His best opponent were the online rendition of Cloud9: hltv.org/stats/players/matches/8564/fer?.. Filter big events: hltv.org/stats/players/matches/8564/fer?.. Shit against Big, G2, Liquid, Furia, Copenhagen Flames. Stats all boosted by a single series against C9 with fucking nafany and interz. Absolutely no one should care about online results, he wasn't playing anyone but BR/NA teams. Oh and since you don't understand your own Big Events filter: he played 2 whole LAN events, because he never made it past qualifiers at the others so they aren't averaged. Please keep calling me a moron.

Here let's get more granular, since you still don't understand what you're arguing. Here's why he never had more than 2 "Big Events" to filter (and that you're clinging to): Antwerp Challengers Stage - 1.07 - Had 3 good maps, 1 big win against Liquid (Fair), one blow out against Forze (Fair). He had 5 maps where he was awful (1.0 or lower). That 1.07 is buffed by 3 out of 8 maps. hltv.org/stats/players/matches/8564/fer?.. IEM Rio Americas RMR - 1.13 - Okay fair enough rating. Oh, right, he farmed Nouns (LOL), TeamOne (LOL), 00Nation (LOL), 9z (LOL), and Isurus (LOL). He didn't even end up positive against coL (0.96) or paiN (0.90). hltv.org/stats/players/matches/8564/fer?.. IEM Rio Challengers - 0.99 - He's lucky he even got this rating, he had a good showing against C9, but was atrocious against 9z and Vitality. We all know how bad that C9 team was on LAN, by the way. hltv.org/stats/players/matches/8564/fer?.. IEM Cologne Play-in (didn't even make the main event) - 0.96 - I guess farming Order gets you almost a 1.0. But boy do those other 4 maps (3 of which 0.7 rated games) look bad... hltv.org/stats/players/matches/8564/fer?.. IEM Dallas - 0.90 - In fairness he only played 3 maps, but a 0.73 against Liquid (Liquid WITH SHOX) and a 0.97 against Furia tells you a lot hltv.org/stats/players/matches/8564/fer?.. ESL Challengers Melbourne - 1.05 - Oh, right, he farmed Grayhound (LOL) and fucking VERTEX (LOL). He averaged a 0.93 against the only Top20 team there (paiN) in 4 maps. He barely averages a 1.01 against Top50 (!!!) because he farmed Grayhound. Had 2 0.8 rated maps agianst Entropiq... hltv.org/stats/players/matches/8564/fer?.. This is the guy you genuinely think could come back at 33 and actually compete against top teams. But hey, 2 matches against Cloud 9 and Bad News Eagles means he's a 1.15 player against top teams across an entire year.
