TaZ to stand in for huNter- at PGL Astana

TaZ will be playing for G2 for at least "the starting matches."

G2 have announced that Nemanja "⁠huNter-⁠" Kovač will miss their opening matches at PGL Astana due to visa issues, with Wiktor "⁠TaZ⁠" Wojtas set to stand in for the 29-year-old until said issues are resolved. G2 have not said how long it will take for huNter-'s visa issues to be resolved.

As a result fans will have to wait to see G2 debut in full with Olek "⁠hades⁠" Miskiewicz among their ranks, following the recent departure of Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov to Falcons.

This will not be the first time G2 have had to use TaZ as a stand-in as the Polish coach took to the server during BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 in place of m0NESY, again due to visa issues.

PGL Astana will serve as G2's return to action following a layoff since PGL Bucharest a month ago, with the squad not attending IEM Melbourne or BLAST Rivals in the interim.

As a result of utilizing TaZ as a stand-in G2 will sport a majority-Polish roster for their opening matches, as the 38-year-old coach will line up alongside countrymen hades and Janusz "⁠Snax⁠" Pogorzelski.

Whilst G2 have not said how long it will take to resolve huNter-'s visa issues, TaZ will at least take to the server for their opening match against MIBR.

There is probably some sort of roster lock in place for this tournament, as for most tier1 events anyways. Afaik they didn't have a listed stand-in so their only option is to play with a coach which is allowed by the rules
