FURIA fe and Imperial Valkyries set to clash as ESL Impact Finals hit playoffs

The biggest women's rivalry of the second half of 2024 is headed for an early repeat in Dallas, Texas.

The Valkyries' group stage loss to NIP Impact sets the stage for a semi-final vs. FURIA

Six-time Impact League champions Imperial Valkyries arrived in Dallas as clear favorites of their group, but quickly found the opposition more difficult than anticipated on the first two days of play.

After squeezing past FlyQuest RED in the opening round, they were sent to the elimination zone by NIP Impact after a CT side comeback on Inferno, powered by Dutch twins Naomi "⁠Nayomy⁠" Janssen and Kiara "⁠Qiyarah⁠" Janssen.

Zainab "⁠zAAz⁠" Turkie and company then won the FlyQuest RED rematch with ease, but placing second in the group meants that they're set for clash against their biggest rivals of the second half of 2024, FURIA fe, earlier than anticipated.

The Brazilians exchanged two women's titles with the Valkyries in the second half of 2024, halting the giants' unbeaten streak at the Rainhas do Clutch Finals in Rio in December as the year drew to a close.

Supernova Comets, the undefeated winners of the North American division, claimed second place in the group after two wins over the former Prototype Blaze team now competing as Zerance, and are set to face off against NIP Impact in the first semi-final on Saturday.

Hey guys, let's stop being sexist and diminish the women scene and think only men's competition are worth an article. It is time to open for women CS as it is happening in other collective sports that were flagged as men only. I believe in a near future we might have some teams featuring men and women or their league will be just a bit smaller than men's one. I would love to have an interview with Zaaz telling her story, the start, grinding until today's scene.
