No Swedish magic in Austin as Metizport depart the Major in last place

Imperial won the series between the two teams in the 0-2 pool with a glowing performance by try.

Metizport are out from Stage 1 in last place after a two-map loss to Imperial

Imperial have secured survival for at least another day in Austin after defeating Metizport 2-0 on Nuke (16-13) and Dust (13-2), moving on to the 1-2 pool, while the Swedes will be going home after posting a 0-3 record in the first two days of play.

From the get-go, it was Imperial’s game to lose, as they got off to an early 8-1 lead on the CT side of Nuke, Metizport’s pick, with AWPer Santino "try" Rigal carrying the team on his back. It quickly appeared as though the Swedes were down and out, but they briefly came to life, winning the final three rounds on the attack and the first four on the defense, to tie things up.

try dominated on Nuke and finished the series against Metizport with a 1.69 rating

Imperial ground out the T side, however, and made it to map point, 12-10, although they couldn’t close it out in regulation. They did in overtime, without a hitch, 16-13, making a statement before heading to their map pick.

The Brazilian squad’s superiority on Dust2 was even more noticeable, so much so that they got an even better jump than they did on Nuke, and tallied a 9-1 before a timeout proved effective and a Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora triple gave a second round to Metizport.

Having made double digits at the half and with Kaiky "noway" Santos mowing down three Swedes down in the second pistol round with his dualies, Imperial cruised to victory on their pick, 13-2, and made quick work of Metizport, whose run in Austin has come to an early end.

Sweden ruins itself because the best players won't join the same team. The talent is there, they just can't seems to put it together. MAIL needs to be built around with all the best that sweden has right now.

Never worked like that in swedish scene. There needs to be synergy, look at old NiP, they got rid of Fifflaren because management thought they could get someone 10x better and they mostly did. Except vibes got worse, synergy wasn't there and all of the sudden your MVPs aren't performing. fnatic the exception who improved under olof/krimz but got way worse with dennis in place of pronax. Just putting the best players on a team has never been the answer, problem nowadays is a swedish team will NEVER have a T1 player. I can definitely see the talent we have go international (the ones that are good enough). The ones that get stuck in swedish teams are generally the ones that already had their chance before.
