Sonic on Peeping rumors: "You don't know if you can trust the people around you who say you can trust them"
The South African called the report that speculated on the removal of either himself or susp "very annoying."

Wildcard came into the Major with an asterisk after a Dust2.us report alleged a post-tournament move for Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell was all but done.
Add in that it was one of Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek or Tim "susp" Ångström making way, and you can see why the South African would be frustrated that the news broke.

"Esports is very unpredictable," Sonic told HLTV after Wildcard's loss to Legacy. "I felt like we had an amazing team and we had really amazing moments and stuff."
Those amazing moments included an underdog run to the Elimination stage at the Shanghai Major, a success that was hard to replicate in 2025.
Even still, the manner of their defeat in Austin was damning. Sonic admitted that players were "clashing" and that the calling was criticised after "we kept running into stacks."
All in all, it was not the interview of a man who expected to be wearing the same jersey on the other side of the player break.
Obviously disappointing, what do you think went wrong for you guys this event?
To be honest, the last game was really close against BetBoom. We really had that game. The small mistakes cost us. Whatever it may be, nerves, getting out-aimed in a lucky round, or messing up an anti-eco really cost us.
Today, it didn't feel like we were cohesive with one another. It didn't feel like we were communicating for one another. It felt like we were communicating for ourselves. Overall, it didn't really feel like we were playing as a team and that was obvious to anyone watching. Pretty disappointing in that sense.
What do you put that down to? Was it the mental aspect of yesterday being two overtimes, so close. Were people a bit drained? Why were the comms different?
I don't think it's people being drained from yesterday. I felt like people were clashing today, maybe some people felt like the calling wasn't going right for us and that we kept running into stacks. We were making errors in our anti-ecos, on Inferno we lost like four to five anti-ecos. It was crazy, and that's the reason we lost that map. Going into Nuke, we couldn't really reset ourselves mentally which is frustrating. Ultimately, that's why we lost.
Sorry but I have to ask. There were rumors of roster changes even before this tournament. Can you say anything on that? Did it disrupt you guys at all?
To be honest, this is esports. Esports is very unpredictable. I felt like we had an amazing team and we had really amazing moments and stuff. It just feels like sometimes you're being lied to as a player.
It affects everyone on the team, you don't know who to trust, you don't know if you can trust the people around you who say you can trust them. It's murky waters and it's very annoying. And it shouldn't happen in esports. It's plain wrong. We'll see what happens. There's a bunch of different things happening. No-one quite knows.
